Does anyone else think TFG is trying to lose on purpose? His actions just make no f***ing sense.

In the last couple of days… 1) he’s told women he’ll protect them whether they like it or not; 2) tried to climb into a garbage truck and almost ended up on his ass; 2) climbed into a garbage truck and then held a press conference from the passenger side seat through the window; 3) offended Puerto Ricans during his MSG closing argument; 4) modeled his closing argument after the 1939 Nazi conference at MSG; 5) threatened Liz Cheney with an execution with 9 guns pointed at her face; 6) becoming more and more unstable and unhinged; 6) he’s just plain old weird and getting weirder every day. I am so ready to turn the page on his rhetoric and chaos. For some reason, my return key is not working in DU. However, outside of DU it works fine 😂

Or in football terms, set up trick plays for (a couple) successful onside kicks or pick-6's. Maybe Vance and his backers can work the Refs enough to "keep possession of the ball" instead of turning it over like they're supposed to and make a run for it in the Courts.

But he is also confident of his stealing machine. I don't think that actual votes have ever mattered to him. He is a control freak. He cannot trust anything as uncertain as vote numbers. He has to be sure of winning through manipulative election interference, gaslighting claims to be the winner, and ultimately force if necessary.

So, he has confidence in his stealing machine and creates a violent backup among his followers by firing them up with hate rhetoric and camaraderie instead of trying to expand his vote numbers.

I'm thinking that he knows he's toast, squandering campaign cash, and seeing how truly awful he can be and still be adored by the stoopids. He's shooting randomly on 5th Ave, and enjoying their continued adulation.

May also be a test for his backers to see how much loyalty he can retain even when the proposed policies and plans will destroy America--Russia, Musk and the oligarchs testing how much pushback they might get.

Unfortunately, it seems to be more than I'm comfortable with.

Sat Nov 2, 2024, 11:44 AM
Nov 2024

She said that he has always had few, if any, inhibitions about saying or doing whatever he wants, but that he formerly could filter his thoughts before saying damaging things. He no longer has any filters. She refused to speculate on why that is the case, but his actions and speeches of late clearly indicate that any filters he ever had are gone. I think the loss of such filters may signal dementia rather than a conscious effort to lose the election.

I think of people who develop Tourette Syndrome who uncontrollably speak foul language. Perhaps whatever Trump has means he has lost any control of his ability to process thoughts before they just come spilling out of his mouth.

Sat Nov 2, 2024, 11:45 AM

He has no filters.

quote:
Frontotemporal dementia often isn’t just one singular condition. It is usually made up of several Alzheimer's related disorders that affect the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain. These brain regions control impulsive behavior for example. This is known as 'mixed dementia'. If it is a more specific type of dementia, it may be 'behavioral variant frontotemporal dementia'. Personality, emotions, behavior, and speech are also controlled in these areas of the brain. These disorders cause the brain to lose brain cell function.

The symptoms of frontotemporal dementia depend on the areas of the brain affected. Most symptoms can be divided into one of two categories: behavior or language.

Common behavioral symptoms of frontotemporal dementia include:

inappropriate speech or behavior
apathy, or lack of interest or enthusiasm in activities
lack of inhibition or restraint
neglect of personal hygiene and care
compulsive behavior

So we are starting to see exactly what Trump believes and what a pig he is. More of a pig than before.

See here:

Yes, dementia can cause people to lose their filters, and it can also reveal the person underneath a narcissist's coping mechanism:

Dementia
As dementia progresses, people lose brain cells that control judgment, planning, memory, and mood. This can lead to a loss of filters.

Narcissistic personality disorder (NPD)
People with NPD often have a fragile ego, manipulative behaviors, and abusive tendencies. They may also have a grandiose sense of self-importance, need constant praise, and exploit others.

Alzheimer's disease
In the later stages of Alzheimer's, the disease can strip away the coping mechanism of NPD. This can reveal the person underneath the narcissism, which can be painful for both the individual and their family.

He's not trying to lose. He's terrified of jail, and he'd rather see the country burn to the ground than risk going.

He's saying and doing all this stupid shit because he thinks he's the funniest, smartest, cleverest person in the world and thinks whatever he says or does is the perfect thing to say or do for that moment in time. He talks in those terms! A perfect phone call. A perfect speech. And so forth. He thinks he's unbeatable. He thinks he's invincible. So he says whatever he's thinking, and doesn't give a damn what anyone else thinks about what he says. And the thing is, when it comes to his cultists, he's absolutely right. He could have the original copy of the Constitution taken out of the national archives, take a shit on it, wipe his ass with a Gutenburg bible, rape a preteen in the Oval Office, and release the video on his platform and X, and Fox News would praise his leadership and MAGAts would still enthusiastically vote for him. So he thinks whatever he says and does is golden, and just does what he wants.

Sat Nov 2, 2024, 06:15 PM
Nov 2024

There are more and more signs of dementia or Alzheimer's - at this stage there likely isn't all that much difference. It has not progressed to the stage where he no longer recognizes the people around him, but having lost a couple of relatives to Alzheimer's the signs are very much there. What's different is that he is also an extreme narcissist and a sociopath (the two are related, but not quite overlapping). He is also under extreme stress at the moment, especially since it's looking extremely likely that he's not even going to lose close enough to contest elections in key states.

I also think that his campaign is probably pretty much broke, and the funding promised is drying up as donors stop making payments.

Going for an all out assault with his followers is not really a strategy, it's a move of desperation, a Hail Mary, and its a step, that should they take it, will net them long prison sentences for all involved if that fails (and it would, because Biden has had ample time to prepare for it. It's not the strategy of a sane man.

Does he have the followers to pull it off? I rather doubt it. They will be angry if he loses, there may even be sporadic outbreaks of violence, but nothing that will be coordinated. Why? Because his chief supporters are either people that believe can influence him, or are people that tend to be lazy themselves. Partisans fight against oppressors when they realize that the oppressors will wipe them out otherwise (cf., Ukraine), yet I think that deep down, most MAGATs cannot actively imagine that the libruls will fight back, and as the dawning realization is made that we certainly will, they are likely to be MUCH less interested in fighting.
