Gingrich Appeals to "Adulterers and Other Humans" to Counter Romney's Mormon Bus-In.

Breaking...

At Hank's Hamcakes in downtown Glink, South Carolina, this morning,
candidate Newt Gingrich was asked about Mitt Romney's plan to bus
in Mormon missionaries from around the world to pump enthusiasm
into his faltering campaign.

"Look," Gingrich said, "Mitt is welcome to haul in all the radical outsiders
he can dig up. Personally, I want to reach out right now to all the normal
regular deeply flawed South Carolinians who, like myself and all red-blooded
Americans, like to drink coffee and cokes and go to dances and sock-hops
or polka gatherings or what-have-you, and yes, frankly, be tempted to
engage in behavior that makes us human, that makes extramarital activity
a sin, admittedly, but also makes us real and genuine and keeps us humble,
even if we do have an admittedly remarkable God-given talent for leadership
and guiding the world through dangerous and terrifying waters.

"So, yes, I reach my perhaps somewhat soiled, I suppose, but warm hand
to all the adulterers and other humans, all the would-be adulterers, all the
people who know what it's like to be tempted and to be a man or a woman with
extra passion for life and for other people and innovation, and I remind you that
all the great and bold leaders of this and every era, as a historian, have had
to allow their extraordinary enthusiasm and energy for a full life boil over
now and then into areas that are forbidden for all but are necessarily less
resistible for some who are called to the more sublime heights of power to serve
others.

"Therefore, I call on you, adulterers and other humans, the sinners and the
forgiven and the redeemed, and, frankly, the repeat sinners and repeat
forgiven, if need be, on you all, to vote for a man who does not pretend,
like some, that he is better than anybody else, except in terms of leadership
quality and God's destiny for him, for me, frankly. So vote for a man who is
just like you, who knows what a well-turned ankle is for, frankly, or a look
across a crowded room, strangers in the night, so to speak. Vote for
a man who knows what it was like when men were men and women
understood a great man's great passions. And look, frankly, please, goodness
gracious, if I did happen to ask my wife a question that she might have misunderstood
as asking for an open marriage, that when or if she said no, that I fully honored
that request with humility and respect, and immediately left her. So, see you
at the polling booth, South Carolina!"

I may have done my share of "non-traditional" romps, but the one thing I never did, was to have an affair with a Married Man. It had nothing to do with the sexy, stud men (like Newt????) or so called morals, but more that I had far more respect for their wives, my SISTERS. I couldn't do that to another woman.

Hear that Marianne, Calista? You are not much younger than me.
