The GOP (the 1% who count) will start the search for the real candidate, looking closely at NY.

(115,686 posts)He has waaaay too much money behind him and he's been running for president for years and years. He thinks he's entitled to the nomination and he's not about to let Newt take it from him. He'll amp up the nastiness of the ads and Newt will respond in kind.
It will be classic mutual assured destruction - Slim Pickens riding the bomb all the way to the ground.

(8,556 posts)But if the base isn't enthusiastic about Romney or Gingrich, how are they going to get enthusiastic about a Democrat who signed same-sex marriage into law? And why would Cuomo even consider that? It just makes no sense at all to me.
Even if a miracle occurred and Cuomo agreed to do it, you could very well see Obama winning all 50 states. Is that really what they want?

Pataki is getting up in the yrs but only minor problems with wife's jobs, but he could be the adult in this race.
