Nope. I don't like this.

I’ve got a bad feeling about all of this.

Things might very well be okay in the long run, but in the short term, something’s telling me this is not going to be good at all.

On edit, my further thoughts for my cryptic posting:

Last month, I came down with a fever and chills. I thought it was Covid or the flu, but both were negative. It continued throughout the week, a low grade fever and fatigue. I figured it was sinusitis since I had some facial pressure and got some antibiotics. But the fever persisted.

Then one morning—2 days before Christmas—I woke up with a dull pain on my right side. It was not the worst pain I’ve felt in my life, but something about it was disconcerting. And nagging. And it felt wrong. And I knew I didn’t like it.

My instinct was to push through until after Christmas. I didn’t want to ruin the holidays for everyone else.

But all that day my body was telling me something was wrong. I hoped it would go away, but it didn’t.

Finally, after midnight on early Christmas Eve, I knew I didn’t like the situation, I got up, and I drove myself to the emergency room.

After tests, scans, etc. it was determined I had an abscess on my liver. Thankfully it was all treatable with strong antibiotics. But I was in the hospital for 5 days, and I needed a drain and three weeks of IV feed antibiotics.

Had I ignored that pain and tried to push through, there’s a chance I could have gotten sepsis and a much more serious health problem.

Something about that dull pain made me “I don’t like this.”

And that’s how I feel today, right now, about my country.

my greatest concern is a major war between the great powers which my instincts tell me is likely. That we will not get through without massive suffering.
What we are witnessing is a Psychotic Narcissist, surrounded by Psychotic Narcissist, enabled by a political party overrun by cowards and traitors. Not good.

First they help themselves to what is left of the savings and then people start losing their houses because there is no default when the jobs go and the taxes are due!

You saved your own life by driving to the ER to get checked out, you know. You're your own best friend. Wish everyone would do that. How are you now? But this impending threat today? Don't we wish we could send it to the ER and get it fixed. But we can't. We've got to face it head on and live through it. Look it, we have laws. We have the Constitution. And if that bunch goes off doing things that are against the law or the Constitution, they'll have shite to pay. Right? I'm as sick as anybody about all this, but we have to keep our heads on straight. I might return here in a while and add a link to an OP that popped up in the night. It's a letter from Robert Reich. I think his words would do you some good.

Drove to ER, took 36 hours and just meds to get that Atrial Flutter under control. First nite I ever spent in a hospital. My constant angst since the election surely contributed to this happening in my way of thinking.

In hospital summer 2023 for pneumonia, not covid. On the day I was leaving, the doctor stopped by and casually mentioned that I had also had sepsis. They had treated me for it, but didn't mention it. My father passed from sepsis in a rehab center a few years ago.

bowels, urinary passage all locked up! It hurt to go to the bathroom - for days!

Then I realized that it was probably the cashews that I began eating a lot of.
I stopped eating them and within two complete days I was about back to nornal.

One more thing added to my food allergy list.
