An 18-year-old from Mooresville, Indiana, is facing charges for allegedly planning a mass school shooting at Mooresville High School.
The Mooresville Metropolitan Police Department received information around 7PM 11 Feb from the FBI about someone who was potentially planning a school shooting on 14 Feb 2025.
During the department's investigation, officers identified the person of interest as Trinity Shockley, of Mooresville. Court documents say Trinity is transgender, going by the name Jamie.

According to court documents, someone called the FBI's Sandy Hook Promise's Say Something Anonymous Reporting System that their friend is planning a shooting in Indiana on 14 Feb. The tipster said the suspect has access to an AR-15 and ordered a bulletproof vest.
Court documents say Shockley sent the following messages to people on the social media platform Discord:
"I've been planning this for a YEAR"
"Parkland part two," referring to the Florida school shooting carried out by Nikolas Cruz, who killed 14 students and three staff members on 14 Feb 2018
Photo of 10 AR-15 magazines
"I'm buying a bulletproof vest."
"4 More days" posted on 10 Feb 2025
"I have THIS staring at me," along with a photo of Dylan Roof, who shot and killed nine people at a South Carolina church in June 2015
-edit-
This is a catastrophe averted. The student reportedly had access to her fathers AR-15 rifle and bullet-proof vest, and had expressed admiration for other mass shooters, including Nikolas Cruz, who murdered 17 people and wounded 17 others at Parkland High School, Florida on 14 Feb 2018.
In an average year, 1,111 people die and 1,556 are wounded by guns in Indiana. Indiana has the 30th-highest rate of gun violence in the US. Indiana firearm licenses in 2021: 157,546. In Indiana, 44.8% of adults have at least one firearm at home. These are warzone casualty figures, without an invasion of the homeland.
President Trumpf just signed an E.O. easing federal firearms regulations.

(3,017 posts)No teachers or guidance counselors detected anything amiss with her?
But I could believe that. My guidance counselor didn't notice my playing hooky or frequently being late. Mr. "G" was not proactive with me as he was with my classmates who went on to the Ivy Leagues with phenomenal grades and high SAT scores. I surmised he only wanted to deal with easy, smart kids-- no hard cases.
When we accidentally bumped into each other between periods before graduation, he was more tongue-tied than me out of embarrassment for not seeking me out in three years. I told him of my post-HS plans and he was relieved, offering me a fake smile and clasping his hands together.
"Oh, that's won-der-ful!" he chimed.
In the pre-internet days, Mr. "G" used a checklist on a clipboard. If I didn't run into my guidance counselor by mistake that day, his final checklist box for me would have been blank.

Of all the great teachers and mentors I had, his name sticks because of his complete lack of initiative towards me.
