President’s move has no historic parallels, but the deep uncertainty for the global economy may prove as destructive as the tariffs

From world leaders, to the tiniest manufacturers thousands of miles away Washington, decision-makers across the global economy are racked with uncertainty as they scramble to come to terms with Donald Trump’s historic tariffs.

Experts are all but unanimous that the impact on global growth of Wednesday’s extraordinary Rose Garden press conference will be negative – but just how bad remains highly uncertain.

“In economic terms, it makes no sense at all,” said Jordi Gual, the former chair of CaixaBank, Spain’s largest domestic lender, who is now an economics professor at IESE business school in Barcelona. “It is hugely problematic, because we go back to a level we hadn’t seen since the 1930s.”

1. The purpose of the tariffs is not about the economy.

The tariffs are designed to be about power, control, punishment.
And making money for Trump.

He will show the world he is in charge.

2. Correct. I believe he especially loves showing his 'power' by getting away with lies, getting away w crimes, starting

unexpected or catastrophic actions that no one else would try and calling it genius, cheating contractors, defrauding others.

All the same disorder. The worse it is for others, the better.

3. You are correct. He loves getting away with his crimes.

We see this with his rapes.

He plans them ahead of time, he is clever, works out a plan.
Goes to a big high end department store, tells an attractive woman (E Carroll)
a bunch of lies to trap her in a dressing room where he rapes her.

It is his word against hers and no one will believe the story.

With Stormy Daniels, promises her a TV show.
Lures her up to his hotel room saying they will go to dinner.
Then traps her in his bedroom with his guard at the door.

These are certainly not his only rapes.

And yes he loves it.
The more pain he inflicts the better.
He is like a serial killer.
