To Huckabee and Dobson about the evil being allowed of God not in schools...

and other evils of the society, I wonder how they justify the mass killing at that Amish school in 2006? Remember that?

On 2 October 2006, a shooting occurred at the West Nickel Mines School, an Amish one-room schoolhouse in the Old Order Amish community of Nickel Mines, a village in Bart Township of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.[1][2][3] Gunman Charles Carl Roberts IV took hostages and shot ten girls (aged 6–13), killing five, before committing suicide in the schoolhouse.[1][2][3][4] The emphasis on forgiveness and reconciliation in the response of the Amish community was widely discussed in the national media. The West Nickel Mines School was torn down, and a new one-room schoolhouse, the New Hope School, was built at another location.

He used a Springfield XD 9mm handgun. He also had a rifle, shotgun, a stun-gun, wires, chains, nails, tools and a small bag. Here's the XD:

The clip/magazine, depending on the model, seems to be from 5 to 19.

Here's the rifle:

Here's the Browing BPS pump action shotgun (for those who don't know what skeet shooting is, this is it):

Apparently it takes a lot of weapons when you go "hunting" for little girls.

Perhaps their god isn't the right one? Or their belief system differs?

I'm sure they could think of something.

They're flat-out lying about children not being allowed to pray in school. Why do you expect them to care about inconsistencies when their premise is entirely false to begin with?

so when Big Ed and others were showing video of Huckabee, no one even mentioned the Amish incident as proof that what he was saying was pure garbage, even from Huckabee's point of view. I think it's because they haven't done their research on the history of mass killings, and don't remember the Amish one. Although how they could forget it, I don't know.

I'd like to hear these pundits say, "Hey, that's not true. People are allowed to pray in public schools."

It's important because I think the majority of Christians in this country have swallowed the lie that Huckabee and the rest are feeding them.

on school property to engage in prayer, and most schools permit a moment of silence.

When I was in public school, public prayer was the norm, even though it wasn't legal. I never liked the written prayers; I said my own. Kids who didn't pray stood up, but didn't pray.

We had school prayer. We also lost about 50% of our student body to dropping out to have babies or take jobs to support the girlfriend/wife who was having a baby. We had plenty of fights in school and drug abuse. Plenty of kids were disrespectful towards the staff. School prayer gave a quiet opportunity for students who were already inclined, to pray. For the others, it had no bearing.
