(2,424 posts)I expect most of America is as well.
Tell MSNBC that giving this publicity is as bad as giving gun carrying lunatics publicity.
Oh wait....that is what FOX viewers typically are.

(62,683 posts)doesn't mean the tragedies befalling other citizens can be ignored. It's not either/or.

(11,605 posts)I read it as the opposite. This thread was about Benghazi and someone else injected Newtown into it. Is it immoral to say both losses of life were tragic?

(2,424 posts)The grief in Newton is diluted by the Benghazi "story".
Not by me.
It is an outrage that this stupid story should take away from a more important discussion.
CIA operatives were delivering Libyan weapons to Syrian rebels via shipments to Turkey. This diplomatic "post" was actually a CIA field headquarters to run the operation. Dept. of State had little to do with it. If there is serious negligence involved, it has more to do with Issa than anyone else.
The bad guys found out and attacked the operation. Our men died in battle. No different than dozens of men that died in the Baghdad "Green Zone". Well.....a little different because the Green Zone actually did contain a consulate.
The CIA is inherently secretive about their operations. This was not a cover up. This was an attempt to protect the lives of Libyan sympathizers.
People should be no more outraged than they are about the dozens of soldiers that died in the Green Zone. The special emphasis on Benghazi is all about Presidential politics. Nothing more.
Shove your moral indignation where the sun don't shine. I'm not diluting the important story of the day with Presidential politics that are long past due. The media is. I'm telling you to keep it in perspective and focus on the bigger problem of the day.

(62,683 posts)so much of what has been traditionally a military responsibility.
I have to think it's budget related -- isn't it always about the money?
Our priorities are out of whack. I'm so sorry about all of this.

(11,605 posts)McCain's call for a separate Senate inquiry was rejected. This is the independent inquiry, not the House Republican shitshow.
