Cutting Social Security will be devastating to our party in future elections.

The repukes can get away with it without much or any damage. All they have to do is hold up a gun, a bible, the American flag, and all is forgiven by the brainwashed sheeople. They will spin it and blame it on Obama and the Dems. Game over for us in the foreseeable future.

The GOP already wins the 65+ crowd.

And not to put too fine a point on it, but Obama's path to Presidential victory in '08 and '12 relied heavily on the votes of well-off, upper-middle-class bi-coastals who have enough wealth not to rely too much on Social Security when they age, on the votes of African-Americans voting mostly for reasons of ethnic pride, and on the votes of kids who aren't worrying about 40 years down the road.

When that's your coalition, Social Security suddenly stops being so important.

don't use it in 2014 to take the Senate you are living in a dream world. They hammered that $716 billion cut in Medicare to take the House in 2010. My tea-bagging congressman ran his entire campaign this year on protecting SS and saving Medicare, they already have the Democrats set up for the kill people.

8. Yep, if Obama goes through with the C-CPI we will own it long after he leaves.

His Press Secretary didn't look too comfortable today trying to explain it away as simply a "technical change" to SS.

of our fair share of productivity gains.

The CPI formula is already skewed to loot those of us most affected by it, without the "chaining."

Etc.

There is no good reason for anyone making less than $100,000 per year to lose one present or future dime in this deal.
