Am I the alone in that I have never considered the concept of home defense in any personal way?

I've been hearing a lot about home defense today. I guess I've taken to locking my door in my advancing age, but never considered the idea that I would need to keep guns to shoot down intruders in my bunker of a home. Am I naive and America is crawling with would-be burglars, rapists, and murders, or is shit getting just a little weird and paranoid around here?

there have been times when, living alone, the idea of having a gun for self protection crossed my mind. Then I came to my senses and realized that, for me, that was a really stupid idea. Not a gun person, never have been.

them off. All they did was break several windows and a glass door in an attempt to get in. Once in they found all the interior doors closed and the front door dead bolted. Apparently they went out the back window they had come in. After that I had an alarm system installed, every door and window is armed and I have four cameras around the outside of the house. The cops can take them down with guns, I won't.

And I rarely even lock my door. I do not own a gun and my dog is big sissy. Oh she'll bark but there is no chance she'll attack anyone.

But you know, I have no fear. People don't just randomly break into your house. You have to have something people want and they have to know you have it. I dont sling and I don't shark or book. No one is coming in here to take my drum kit or half stacks. No one is just randomly trying to kill anyone around here. Home invasions and killings are done with purpose and on specific targets.

I think there is just a ton of paranoia and fanciful thinking that drives all the gun craze. People are told to be afraid and so they are. I've never been one to blindly follow anything.

I have hockey sticks, baseball bats and crowbars if I ever need a weapon.
