He wishes he'd have slit Adam's throat.
"I wish I would've killed him then," he says. "Or he should have killed himself a long time ago. He would've saved us all the trouble. ... He should've run in front of a bus, or some other type of terrible death he should've done to himself.
"It would've saved all those kids and parents the trouble. I should've slit and stabbed him by accident. It would've been a lot better for those people."

(27,315 posts)Frankly, the media have been a disgrace on this story, probably because they insisted on talking when they did not know, and now, they are reduced to interview people who still do not know.

(232 posts)There's nothing shocking about this. It's a normal reaction. "I could have stopped it, if only..."

(142 posts)And it's strange/creepy to talk about wishing you killed a 12 year old customer that you barely knew.

(232 posts)point the finger at the reporters and not at the people who want to know more and understand why it happened. People are naturally curious. With no obvious motive, people naturally want to look in every corner and under every rock to try and come to terms with how this could have happened. I'm not sure how you get around this unless you ask people not to act human.
eta - also, it's not just him musing about killing just some 12-year-old he barely knew. It's a human being who understands now that someone he used to know committed a monstrous act, and feeling remorseful, and perhaps even guilty, that if he knew then what he knew now, he might have stopped it.

(142 posts)If anything it's irresponsible to let him run unchallenged with the OVERBEARING MOM narrative. He didn't know either the Lanza or his mom very well, and he isn't a psychiatrist.

(232 posts)he didn't claim to know everything, either. He was talking about his own experience and what he saw. Big deal.
