That was incidents for 2012 (to date)

Why don't we look back 10 years?:

April 2007: A gunman shoots 33 people at the campus of Virginia Tech University in Virginia.

October 2006: A 32-year-old gunman shoots dead at least five girls at an Amish school in Pennsylvania, before killing himself

September 2006: Gunman in Colorado shoots and fatally wounds a teenage schoolgirl, then kills himself; two days later a teenager kills the head teacher of a school in Cazenovia, Wisconsin

November 2005: Student in Tennessee shoots dead an assistant principal and wounds two other administrators

March 2005: Minnesota schoolboy kills nine, then shoots himself

May 2004: Four people injured in shooting at a school in Maryland

April 2003: Teenager shoots dead head-teacher at a Pennsylvania school, then kills himself

March 2001: Pupil opens fire at a school in California, killing two students

February 2000: Six-year-old girl shot dead by classmate in Michigan

November 1999: Thirteen-year-old girl shot dead by a classmate in New Mexico

May 1999: Student injures six pupils in shoot-out in Georgia

April 1999: Two teenagers shoot dead 12 students and a teacher before killing themselves at Columbine School in Colorado

June 1998: Two adults hurt in shooting by teenage student at high school in Virginia

May 1998: Fifteen-year-old boy shoots himself in the head after taking a girl hostage

December 1997: Fourteen-year-old boy kills three students in Kentucky

October 1997: Sixteen-year-old boy stabs mother, then shoots dead two students at school in Mississippi, injuring several others

Sandy Hook isn't the reason, it is the tipping point. It is the sheer stupidity of a "community Watch Captain shooting dead a black teenager because he looked suspicious..It is because of a gun carrying retard who picks a fight with an angry Pizza customer in the store and pulls his backbone(firearm) and shoots the victim twice because he cocked a fist at the coward...It is the 4 year old killed by stray bullets in a drive by shooting...
It is time for the "talk". it is time for action.

Its only at times like these after horrible mass shootings that the American public turns it eye on gun control for a whole two weeks.

2. Why doesn't gun control work in Chicago?

Chicago has some of the strictest gun control laws in the United States. One would think that in the places that have the strictest gun control laws, that crime would be the lowest.

But for some reason I don't understand, it does not seem to work out that way. Many nights in the city there are twenty or more shootings, some of very small children hit by being caught in the crossfire.

What more could Chicago, or NYC or any one of tens of dozens of American cities do to make this problem better? Almost nobody can legally own a gun there now.

3. Well 1 post Saigaman, because this is a far deeper issue than just gun control

its an issue of family structure, parenting, Chicago failing its children is its schools, mental illness and several other factors but we can not call ourselves a civilized society if most of it is armed and scared everyday of their existence. BTW "almost nobody can legally own a gun there now." That is 100% a lie, many many people legally own guns in Chicago, more guns DO NOT equal less violence.

Chicago needs to retool and try something else. Not doing anything, not trying is not going to cut it.

7. People only have to go to a nearby state to get guns. Here in NY they go to VA to get their guns.

When guns are readily available within a short traveling distance, gun psychos know it.

12. This loser jerk only felt safe in public while "carrying" (my opinion)

then with his S&W artificial spine in place, he challanged another customer in the store who was ranting to the staff that their service was slow. An arguement ensued. Mr. artificial spine and the angry customer got into a shoving match. The angry customer produced a fist, the artificial spine recipient produced his S & W spine and shot the unarmed person twice.
then LIED to police saying the victim has "something" in his hand....
No, he is a retard. he brought a gun to a fist fight that HE started.

You find the word "retard" acceptable? Lemme guess, you find the word faggot, nigger, dyke, acceptable as well?

Your OP was fine with this exception. That fact that you keep saying it is very telling about yourself.
