The Chained CPI will also have a negative effect on the economy, job creation, and wages.

I know that I will be forced to cut spending as "real world" inflation forces me to cut back on anything other than basics. I will also adjust the thermostat, bundle up in the winter, and live with higher inside temps in the summer.

More seniors will be forced to go back into the job market. The increased supply of available workers will keep wages low, so the giant corporations and millionaire investors will love that.

Don't forget they also want to gut unemployment benefits and Food Stamps. Basically, they are taking a large chunk of money out of the pockets of tens of millions of poor and older Americans just so only a tiny amount is taken out of the pockets of the richest one percent. Reverse Robin Hood yet again.

I can make quite a nice torch head from a roll of toilet paper too, burn long enough to make a pot of coffee.

the toilet paper, too. But no more fancy coffees....Aldi's brand isn't so bad.

It would be cool to see a bunch of over 50 year olds protesting this deceptive scam to reduce their SS. Occupy Social Security.

The meanest things are always done at the end of the year when people are trying to have fun. The deal will be made behind closed doors and come 2013, everyone will be

My only hope is that something very traumatic or dramatic will occur on 12-21-12. Mother Nature seems to be my final hope. Pretty sad.

Veterans who have honorably served this Country and are elderly and/ or disabled. This is the ultimate betrayal.

this won't

and the over the curb recession would only be mild

whereas the consequences of decimating defined benefits are hugely negative

There aren't enough jobs out there now. How many less will there be if people are forced to stay in their jobs longer before retiring? That is assuming their employers will even keep them given that there is age discrimination. Doesn't matter whether there are laws against it, we all know it exists in reality.

Young people won't have as many opportunities opening up for them either.

Chained CPI is just a huge disaster waiting to happen. Can't believe anyone is even seriously considering this as a "good thing."

You take away people's source of income, and they die. It is that simple.

It is theft. It is murder. And it is being perpetrated against the will of the people.
