Recent FB exchange. I'm clearly at the end of my Obama rope...

{ATMAN}: The God of GOP, Ronald Reagan, seemed to know how to shore up SS. I don't understand why we have this arbitrary cap in SS earnings. A modest increase in the cap would go a long way towards guaranteeing the benefits we've paid for.

Oh, wait...I know why. Wall Street wants that pool of cash so they can play with it. Never mind.

{FRIEND} What year did they decide to tap into the trust fund? Did I imagine that, is it a fact? Can't research it at the moment.

{ATMAN}: (Friend), yes, they tapped into the trust fund. But why should that make a difference? Make THEM pay for it. Cut their Congressional salaries, and their lifetime pensions, and their golden health care benefits. Make THEM feel the pain for the bullshit they wrought. Why are WE supposed to pay because THEY stole the money from us in order to pay for "earmarks" and special projects? It won't stop unless we stop making excuses for them.

{ATMAN}: Oh, and when I say "stop making excuses for them," I include President Obama. He campaigned on a specific tax issue, and the he won on that issue, and the Democrats handily beat the GOP. By a HUGE margin, no matter what Fox News tries to tell you. Far, far more than Bush or Clinton won by. Yet, he's still giving in to Orange Face Boner. I don't get it.

You take away people's source of income, and they die. It is that simple.

It is theft. It is murder. And it is being perpetrated against the will of the people.

All of this money I've paid my entire life...BOOM!...fuck you, old guy. Because some millionaire fucking dumb fuck assholes want to gamble with my SS fund. And the president I've campaigned for, literally worked for, isn't standing up for us. Fuck this. Fucking fuck this. But what is the alternative? Seriously? What Would Mitt Do? It would be even worse.

And there are no third parties. What the fuck?

They didn't let Bush.

The two party system is a failure. When one party starts to swallow the other they move in the direction as the losers. The losers on the other hand have no recourse in the two party system. (they can't join with anyone) so they have to play the spoilers.

A recipe for disaster.

He can't sign anything till it get to his desk. And if something does not go through soon a lot of people will be hurt. The Reps have found a way to make it a win win for themselves with this. And it will be John Q that will get the lose lose if Obama does not try to play a little. Remember that those in the Congress only answer to a small group or people and they are the first step to get this done. And those that are marked for teaparty backing have to not back Obama in anything. Remember many of those Teabags want no tax increase what so ever. So those that are being backed must show that they are fighting tooth and claw.

That is the one thing that gives me a headache about Congress. They answer individually to a small group. And those groups can hurt us all.
As long as their little group is happy Congressmen will keep this up, no mater what message we send as a country.
