Keep up the pressure on them.

As Fredrick Douglas said, "Power gives up nothing without a fight."

I've heard it all now.

Electing Obama was the lesser of two evils per the pundits. Now cutting social security via the "chained CPI" is the lesser of two evils.

I mean, after all the president could have conceded age 67 as the age of qualification for social security benefits. So we should be glad that our social security benefits will only be cut a limited amount this year, and a little more the year after that, and so on, and so on, so that you only get poorer and poorer gradually with the greatest poverty occuring at the greatest age.

So the president gives up tax increases to 400k income per year, doesn't even discuss a financial transactions tax, lowers taxes on corporations which is neo liberal bullshit, doesn't even discuss raising the cap on social security taxes, doesn't talk about increasing the limited 15 percent tax on unearned income such as capital gains, dividend income, or hedge fund capital gains, and the "lesser evil" is cutting social security?

When are Americans gonna get their heads out of their asses?

...it's not true".

And now we're hearing that it could be much worse, that it's progressives' fault for letting Republicans take the House in 2010, etc.

Next up: you should have held his feet to the fire.

There are those who will ensure that they support the President, no matter what he says or does. In my opinion, that shows a real lack of character. If you agree with President Obama about everything he's said and done while in office, you're either not paying much attention, or you're hero-worshiping.

I'm trying to come up with a good generic name for Romney. I think Hitler von Rockefeller is my favorite so far.

"So you think it would have been better under Hitler von Rockefeller?!!"

A. it's not a done deal.

B. it wouldn't be so bad if it were.

Obviously, you don't understand what the Chained CPI really is. It's really not so bad. You should probably educate yourself before you post threads like this.
