The next time we have a trifecta in DC, we better have the biggest reconciliation bill of all time!!

The Repugs have managed to put all of their priorities in one bill. When we had all 3 levers of powers, we piece-mealed everything...using reconciliation for only things like health care. We must correct this mess and I want us to put all Dem priorities in one big, mega, monstrous bill if win back control of Congress and the WH in 2028! No freaking excuses this time!

Getting wide margins in the Senate is quite a challenge. In It to Win It Jul 2025 #3
Reconciliation is a mere 50 vote threshold. Why do we need wide margins? They don't have them. n/t Wanderlust988 Jul 2025 #7

to guarantee such a bill could pass without the usual reTHug obstructionist bs gumming up the works as usual.

In addition, and more importantly, we have to hope that any future reconciliation bill considered can actually undo all the harm this administration will undoubtedly do over the next 3 1/2 years. The damage will no doubt be catastrophic in scale and scope, if not incalculable.

Trump is just getting started. I don't even want to think about what this nation will look like in 2028. It makes me feel genuinely sick.

Between now and 2028, we'd have to defend Georgia (2), Michigan (1), Pennsylvania (1) and Wisconsin (1). These 5 seats will be our closest races where we have to hold our numbers.

At the same time, we can pick up North Carolina (2), Maine (1), and Wisconsin (1). If we hold all of our current seats, that's a top line number of 51 seats unless we take a surprise win somewhere else. I've heard that Sherrod Brown may be considering running for Senate again filling JD Vance's seat. That may be a possible, but long-shot, pick up.

It's not coming back, it can't come back, nobody alive today will live to see anything as good as it was when we had a real middle class.

We’re never going to get what we need.

With the amount of wealth in this country, there’s absolutely no reason why everyone shouldn’t have the basics.

The owners of the country will never allow it. No matter who is in power in Washington.
