OMG, Google's AI Overview just told me this:

"The One, Big, Beautiful Bill" eliminates federal income tax for individuals earning less than $120,000 .

I had previously been redirected to a tiktok video saying the same thing. Where is this blatantly false propaganda coming from? And you just know that MAGAs will actually believe it. I guess they'll get a big surprise when they go to file their taxes next April and they find out their taxes weren't actually eliminated.

seems like a I hear the exact opposite of the truth planted into the right wing media, fox universe or mano sphere, or wherever on many terrible things happening that will be definitely be bad for or might wake up his followers. Am sure it's deliberate to maintain control of their minds. Makes it harder to fight their lies.

No, "The One, Big, Beautiful Bill" does not eliminate federal taxes for individuals earning less than $120,000. While it does provide significant tax cuts for many Americans, especially those in lower and middle income brackets, the bill does not eliminate federal income tax entirely for any specific income level.

6. Interesting. I don't remember what I entered to get that original response.

Any way, so I entered the text of the original response and got this much longer response:

"The One, Big, Beautiful Bill," officially titled the "One Big Beautiful Bill Act", is a tax and spending package passed by the House of Representatives, with the aim of lowering taxes and aligning with President Trump's priorities. One key provision is a change to the tax code that would eliminate federal income tax for individuals earning less than $120,000. However, the bill also includes provisions that phase out the deductions for tips, overtime, and senior tax breaks at certain income levels.

So it's still telling me it eliminates federal income tax for individuals earning less than $120,000. But then the next part of the response contradicts itself.

Key Provisions of the Bill:
Eliminates federal income tax on earnings under $120,000:
.
The White House (.gov) reports this is a permanent tax cut and will result in bigger paychecks for many Americans, with those earning between $30,000 and $80,000 seeing a 15% reduction in their tax bills.

Notice how it repeats eliminating tax on earnings under $120,000, then immediately says that those earning between $30,000 & $80,000 would see their taxes cut by 15% which means they are still paying taxes.

I know AI can't be trusted, but this is really bad.

I've seen it give me a wrong answer, then a right answer when I did another search to make sure I was right, then a wrong answer again -- all to the same question.

8. AI pumps out so much slop that I fear we're headed to a place where facts are unknowable.

AI will just make it worse.
