Minutes before, there were more than 20 kids playing — then, the MILITARY comes through.

The SECOND I heard about this, I went to the park to speak to the person in charge to tell them it needed to end NOW.

Once they were at the park, they were met with crowds of people screaming “get the f— out!” and “get out!” Mayor Karen Bass also showed up to the park, which sits just west of downtown Los Angeles. Activists, who have been on high alert for weeks, appeared to be prepared to deploy lawyers to the scene.

Additionally, on Alvarado street, on the east side of the park, is a festival of immigrant street vendors selling fruit, flowers, pupusas, tamales, and inexpensive household products. Considering the increased funding for ICE just passed in Trump's Budget Busting Bill, I suspect this treatment to be extended to NYC, Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago, Atlanta, Seattle, Portland (OR), San Francisco, San Diego, St. Louis, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Pittsburgh, Detroit, Austin, and New Orleans in the next 18 months. The executive branch will begin to harass cities he sees as being his opposition. If they push back too intensely, he will declare emergency powers and measures against them. If those cities opt to avoid the confrontation in order to deprive him of emergency measures, then he will see it as "being allowed" to do what he wishes. Trump would call that a win-win.
