Sunday: A murder-kidnapping in ex-Gov. Mike Huckabee's family

ARKADELPHIA, Ark.—Authorities in Arkansas were searching Sunday for a suspect wanted in a homicide and kidnapping case involving a distant relative of former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee.

Police issued an arrest warrant for Donald Hux after investigators found the body of Sandy Carl Huckabee at his home in Arkadelphia, which is about 70 miles southwest of Little Rock.

Former Huckabee spokesman Jim Harris said Sandy Huckabee's father was the first cousin of former presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee's father.

Authorities said Hux abducted his ex-wife, Amy Huckabee, and their three children in Arkadelphia before he drove to El Dorado, which is about 80 miles away. He dropped the children off somewhere in southern Arkansas' Union County, which is where El Dorado is located, the local sheriff's office said in a statement. Union County Sheriff's Capt. Clark Burton told The Associated Press the children were not hurt.

And here's an UPDATE:

The man suspected of killing a Hope native and his wife Sunday was killed in a gunfight with police Sunday night.

Donald "Donnie" Hux of Arkadelphia, is believed to have killed Sandy Carl Huckabee, formerly of Hope, in his home at 2304 Forrest Park in Arkadelphia around 4 a.m.

According to police, Hux then kidnapped his ex-wife and Huckabee's current wife, Amy Hunter Huckabee along with the couple's three young children.

After dropping the children off unharmed at Hux's parents home in El Dorado later that day, Hux was killed in a gunfight with police in Union County. Afterwards, Mrs. Huckabee was discovered dead.

Remember? The psycho that tortured a dog to death?

If the publicans keep going, he's guaranteed the nomination before long.

for a state that claims to be so deeply religious and conservative, there are more murders, crimes, child molestations, domestic abuse , and drug use than any other place I've ever lived. I also wonder what part the lack of education plays in all this.

There is no one to 'get out' on an early release.

His cousin was shot dead, also the cousin's wife.
And the shooter (the wife's ex-husband) was killed in a gunfight with police.

Only the children survived.
