Author of Texas abortion ban accused of paying for multiple abortions during alleged 17-year affair

Prominent Texas state Rep. Giovanni Capriglione (R-Southlake) has been accused of having a 17-year affair with an exotic dancer, who says the anti-reproductive rights lawmaker paid for multiple abortions for “his own personal gain.”

Last Friday, conservative media outlet Current Revolt released a 25-minute interview with Capriglione’s accuser Alex Grace.

The interview was published three days after Capriglione unexpectedly announced that he would not seek an eighth term in 2026.

During the interview, Grace alleged that Capriglione paid for meetups at his office, gifts and for several abortion procedures. In response, Capriglione, a staunchly anti-abortion legislator who has been married since 2000 and has three children, admitted to having an affair but reportedly said he had “never, nor would I ever, pay for an abortion.”

One has to read the link to find out what the "cookie batter" and "baby gravy" are.

Also, as for timeline, she said it started in 2004, so 17 years (according to the OP excerpt) brings it to 2021, and

In 2021, Republican Texas state Rep. Giovanni Capriglione introduced the Human Life Protection Act, a trigger ban that turned Texas into one of the strictest anti-abortion states in the nation after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade the following summer.

The legislation almost totally stripped women in Texas of their reproductive autonomy. Maternal mortality has since spiked, and routine pregnancy complications have become more dangerous.

“You’re just going to have to go with my word,” Grace told the Current Revolt when pressed for additional details.
