The Dropkick Murphys channeled the true punk spirit of Warped Tour during their recent performance at the festival’s Long Beach, California stop. Frontman Ken Casey dedicated their scathing single “First Class Loser” to President Donald Trump and performed the track in front of a backdrop that cycles through videos and images of him, including a few that highlighted his connection to Jeffrey Epstein.
“This next song is dedicated to a guy who wears orange makeup, shits his pants in his diapers, rapes women, touches kids,” Casey said. “It’s called ‘First Class Loser.’” Among the images broadcast on the stage was a screenshot from a New York Magazine story from 2002, in which Trump said, “I’ve known Jeff for fifteen years. Terrific guy. He’s a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side.”
Earlier this year, Dropkick Murphys called out an audience member who spent the duration of their Boston concert holding up the all-black MAGA hat popularized by Elon Musk, which Casey called the “true Nazi edition.” “If you’re in a room full of people and you want to know who’s in a cult, how do you know who’s in a cult?” Casey asked the crowd. “They’ve been holding up a fucking hat the whole night to represent a president.”
During a show in Florida earlier this year, Casey explained that “the reason we speak out, we don’t care if we lose fans, because when history is said and done, we want it known that the Dropkick Murphys stood with the people, we stood with the workers.”
