You are invited to the grand opening of the Beautiful Ballroom

Aug 8, 2025
My latest AI experiment has gone viral reaching millions in less than 24 hours.

The inspiration was the announcement by the White House of a new $200 million ballroom with renders that looked a lot like Versailles. Having just visited the palace on vacation and being somewhat disgusted with the level of opulence on display, I had the insight that this new ballroom could become a future museum like Versailles to show what happened in this era.

I didn’t have a script but made it as I went and felt the karmic action and reaction would work well visually. More insights and powerful images came as I worked on it.

I made the stills using Freepik and Sora. Used primarily Kling AI for video and sfx, last shot was with Veo 3. More sound design from ElevenLabs and the music is synced to Masquerade (Suite): 1. Waltz Khachaturian, London symphony orchestra.

No tax monies for it.

If, as claimed, patriot donors would pay for it then what potential quid pro quo’s were involved, if any?

Block the actual construction with protests and lawsuits.

Because one man, the worst president in American history, wants to gloat over "his" ballroom, so he can bask in the luxuriousness of it after a long day of playing golf? I guess he also expects it to be named after him? I find it totally offensive, and pray it can be stopped.

5 years, we will call it the Hope ballroom. We will have poor people represented from multiple nations come, and use it. Have actual charitable events, etc.

We can set up the guillotines there first.

Amazing! The video itself was great -- even adding Ms. Maxwell (don't know how to spell her name). But, I must admit, the capabilities of AI is mind-blowing!

and churning out all sorts of crap, much of which might be way too grotesque to use, though I notuced he was fine with using a temporarily six-fingered Joe Biden in one video.

None of this crap is copyrightable because he didn't create the images you're seeing and the AI tools have no awareness of what they're generating - and any prompt can create an almost infinite number of variations. He has no real control over what's being generated. All he can do is sort through what the AI generates mindlessly.

This is a grotesque parody of creativity and an insult to real filmmakers and animators.

The planned ballroom is on the east side of the White House, not the west side, and somewhat smaller.

And good morning.

Edited to add:

Fact Check: Rumored rendering of Trump's planned White House ballroom isn't what it seems

It's great the way it's done.

ETA: As someone trained in fine arts, I think that the way the surface is composed is more comfortable
for the eye to follow. It would have been a bit more difficult to read if the image were flipped.

Are you sure it's smaller?

Considering an average middle class home built in the 1980s and 1990s is about 2,000 square feet, I doubt it will look smaller. You can fit 45 middle class homes in it.

Can you imagine the gold they are going to line it with, the crystal chandeliers they are going to hang all over it, the opulence and shear expensiveness of one single room.

shows the addition towering over the existing WH. I added a link to a Snopes article. The ballroom is not going to be stuck directly onto the west side of the existing structure. It is proposed to be added to the existing East Wing.

The main WH is 55,000 sf, so 90,000 sf is definitely outlandish. That works out a 250-foot by 360-foot building. It is way out of proportion.

We are in agreement that this a stupid idea, one that only a complete dolt could come up with. My caution is not take the opening exterior view as truthful.

Thanks for writing. I hope all is well.

I've never said that on DU before. I think everyone should express their thoughts. But if they are too blind to see what a powerful pro democracy tool this is, then maybe they need to reconsider that old saying. If you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything at all.

The naysayers are just upset about how powerful this is. It gave me a warm fuzzy the first time I saw it on Occupy Democrats and other such news shows. Then I watched it three more times because it gave me so much hope for a future nation that will get back to its roots of democracy eventually.

Now, I have watched it 3 more times. This is so well put together, inspiring and thought provoking. It tells a pro democracy story that needs to get out there.

We need to keep doing this. It may be powerful enough to wake some of the MAGA crowd. We need more of this. It's great. Wow.
