Some of our best scientists are leaving for greener pastures,

What's happening now in the USA is reminiscent of Nazi Germany.

The best German scientists, facing intolerable conditions after 1933, moved to other countries, especially the USA. The list of Nobel prize winners had been dominated by Germans before 1933. From 1933 onward their share of prizes plummeted, while ours soared.

Right now many of the best American scientists are facing intolerable conditions and planning to emigrate. The universities and laboratories they leave behind are likely to become increasingly mediocre, as Germany's did under the Nazis. Is this what we want for the USA?

When your actions and words drive competent and talented scientists away into Europe, that is degrading our status as a premiere place for valuable scientific studies.

It's a shame, and it's regrettable in the extreme that we're losing these valuable members of our society.

I suspect that we can expect more such actions from the current administration.

Yep. It will take our country decades to recover from what the GOP has done to us.

A poll once showed that people who rely on Faux News are less well informed than those who pay no attention to any news source. Faux News is unique in this respect.

The levels of income and wealth inequality in the USA are already obscene. And they are getting even more obscene, as Trump and other Republicans take from the poor and give to the rich. If we can't reverse this trend, we'll never make America great again.
