Trump's DC gambit is "distraction" from his "involvement in pedophile ring," Philly DA says
Trumps DC gambit is distraction from his involvement in pedophile ring, Philly DA says - Salon Larry Krasner thinks Trump is trying to push one scandal out of the headlines with another
In an interview with CNNs Kaitlan Collins on Tuesday, the Philadelphia district attorney said (Trump's) capital city crackdown was meant to distract from his association with the notorious financier Jeffrey Epstein.
Lets not get lost in his silly argument, his silly distraction, from the fact that he doesnt want to give up information on his own involvement in a pedophile ring, Krasner said. Did we all forget about that?
While announcing his plans to take control of the Metropolitan Police Department and deploy the D.C. National Guard, Trump threatened similar federal takeovers of Democrat-led cities like Chicago and Baltimore. Krasner, a frequent critic of Trump and his cronies, stopped by the network to cry foul and warn (Trump) away from trying a similar move in Philadelphia.
This is a normalization of troops being deployed to do what they should not be asked to do, what theyre not equipped to do, and what violates the Constitution and laws, Krasner said. This is a profoundly un-American attempt to exercise power in ways that are illegal, to scare big cities and to go after Democratic cities that are diverse, to serve his racist, fascist agenda.

'Despicable': Ex-Trump lawyer reveals underage rape claims made against Trump in 2016 - Raw Story
Donald Trump's former fixer Michael Cohen revealed in a new interview that he handled a rape complaint against him and the late financier Jeffrey Epstein just weeks before the 2016 election.
Cohen mentioned the Jane Doe complaint almost in passing during an interview with journalist Tara Palmieri, who wrote on her "Red Letter" website that the details revealed by the former attorney resembled allegations made at that time by a woman known as Katie Johnson.
"She was a Jane Doe who accused ... Trump in three different lawsuits of raping her in Jeffrey Epsteins Manhattan townhouse in 1994, when she was a 13-year-old aspiring model," Palmieri wrote.
"She was planning to hold a press conference in Los Angeles days before the 2016 election, but instead, she dropped her suit and vanished. Her attorney Lisa Bloom cited death threats. Her lead lawyer, Thomas Meagher, filed a one-page dismissal in Manhattan federal court."
