By Caroline Stout
Texas native Caroline Stout said she began working with Kirk at his nonprofit organization in 2014. She is currently an attorney.
A former Turning Point USA employee has claimed conservative activist Charlie Kirk was a never-Trumper until Donald Trump was elected president for the first time in 2016.
She said Kirks decision to support Trump was "strategic" in order to grow the organization and his "position of power within the government.
"Charlie said he could never vote for Trump," she added. "It kind of flipped when he decided, he saw, I think, the writing on the wall that Trump was what was the next figurehead of the Republican party."
Of the change, she said: "And so that's kind of when I left because it wasn't a direction that I was comfortable with going, especially just the rhetoric and the immigrant and anti-women rhetoric is just not something that I was comfortable with."
