The killing of those people in those 2 boats in the ocean was murder. End of story.
No trial, no evidence, and no proof of the running of drugs either just to change the
the subject from his decades long part of being in a child sex trafficking ring that
was international in its reach with Trump not only raping the girls but in using his
modeling try outs and beauty pageants to recruit more young ladies, the use of his
plane to transport the girls, and money laundering too. So he killed people to try
to change the subject.
Trump is a murderer.

(8,103 posts)He openly stated that it was his decision. He's bragging on it.
I don't think he feels anything. He's a psychopath who feels no empathy toward anyone. Deport people to hell? Swell. Bomb and kill 14 people? Swell. Put people out of jobs, food, and property? What does he care.
I hope the people who voted for him, all the people giving him their money voluntarily to get a cheap, Chinese made bauble, and all those dumbass citizens who speak on air to support him--I hope they're happy with the chaos, murders, and pain they caused and are continuing to cause. When rump and vance are over, they will slip away and disavow ever supporting him. Sound familiar? Well, that's what they will do.
Shame on repubs in Congress. And most of all, shame on the Roberts court.

(34,282 posts)Recovering Republican relative, who agrees Trump and Hegseth and the rest are horrible people and so is the Republican Party now, his first comment when I brought it up was well if they were actually drug smugglers then OK.
I immediately said to him no it is not OK, what happened to innocent till proven guilty and a court of law, and what if they werent then its murder, its murder either way actually.
He did not argue with me so I think he saw my point, but you see how easy it is for people to just go along with it assuming certain facts that you can never assume with these pieces of shit running the country, into the ground.

(8,359 posts)So much easier to stay delusional and just let think some man knows best. So much easier to remain in infancy than apply logic and live in reality.
My dad was very intelligent, liberal minded, great sense of humor, and could be inspirational. But he was also a drunk and molested my sister. He was a misogynist when he was in his cups, blamed women for the woes of the world. I cut him out of my life and never regretted it.
Americans need to grow up and stop relying on a daddy figure. Our collective delusions and laziness is a big part of why we are where we are.
And regarding those two boats he had blown to pieces: The method used to be stop and inspect. But the Felon likes to make boom booms. The high he gets never lasts long and he has to go on to the next horror.

(80,014 posts)It depends probably how much money they can make on a sinking economy

They believe all the world's resources belong to them and they don't want to share.
Trump will give them what they want, but they will have to pay the piper.
Yes it seems there would have to be a tipping point.
What it is I don't know. May be different for each person.
For example the tipping point was reached I believed for South Korean manufacturers here in the US.
They were doing what Trump wanted. Manufacturing done here in the US with American employees,
but some South Korean employees which is to be expected.
But those employees were dragged away brutally in chains on hands and feet.
And thrown into dismal detention centers.
For the Asians this was particularly humiliating and terrifying.
They are a proud people.
Koreans back home were appalled and furious. They have been our strong friends and allies
for many years.
And for the owners who are supposed to pay Trump a big cut of profits as a bribe, is it worth
it to them?
I don't know, we shall see how it all plays out.

Trump is a psychopathic, jingoistic asshole
who wants good relations only with other
psychopathic dictators.
He has so far been very successful with
rhem and with Americans on home ground.
However, he also wants to deal only with white
people who are either greedy and selfish like
himself or else able to be manipulated into
making deals he can tout as great victories.
For example, the upcoming state visit to the UK
is key for him.
How this plays out will show the world how he
intends to create enough personal wealth and
power to plunder and destroy as many places as possible
to enlarge the sandbox he's currently playing in.

There is no justification for these homicides. These boats didn't pose an imminent threat to anyone. If there was actionable intelligence these boats could have easily been stopped and boarded.

VanLandingham raised a red flag,
When Trump let the military brag,
"We shot up a boat!"
But that doesn't float
The laws not a whim or a gag.
Said Trump, Blow that boat out the blue!
No court, no warjust a view.
Rachel then snapped,
That orders mishapped
Extrajudicial and lawless to do.
The president ordered a hit,
No trial, no warjust his wit.
"That's murder," she warned,
As the rulebook was scorned
A strongman in tantrum, unfit.
A boat was destroyed on command,
No war, no clear threat on hand.
"No law backs this kill,"
Said VanLandingham, still
"Its power unbridled, not planned."

(42,544 posts)our WNYC (public radio) show this Wed. morning. The expert he featured was Brian Finucane, who used to the a Chief Justice in Nova Scotia.
Here's a synopsis of the program:
The Trump administration's recent lethal strikes on purported drug boats in Venezuela drew widespread condemnation from experts in international law. Brian Finucane, senior adviser at the International Crisis Group and a non-resident senior fellow at Reiss Center on Law and Security at NYU Law, talks about the strikes and the legal issues around them.
