The FCC threatened to revoke Disney and ABC's license if they didn't remove Kimmel:

"This is a very, very serious issue right now for Disney. We can do this the easy way or the hard way," [FCC Chair] Carr said. "These companies can find ways to take action on Kimmel or there is going to be additional work for the FCC ahead."

"They have a license granted by us at the FCC, and that comes with it an obligation to operate in the public interest," Carr said.

1. They could have, should have, immediately filed for an injunction against the abuse of power.

And they should have done it THE MOMENT the threat was made.

You can't tell me that someone in some legal department there doesn't have a draft motion ready to go in anticipation of such a move.

If they don't, they are utter morons.

the transcripts of what Jimmy said? It was inoccuous.

He also said this on the show, and they cherry picked one part;

"Thank you for joining us here in Los Angeles the second largest city in a bitterly divided nation where, like the rest of the country, we're still trying to wrap our heads around the senseless murder of the popular podcaster and conservative activist Charlie Kirk yesterday, whose death has amplified our anger, our differences,"
"I've seen a lot of extraordinarily vile responses to this from both sides of the political spectrum. Some people are are cheering this, which is something I won't ever understand," he said in the opening monologue.
And he wrote this shortly after the announcement of the murder;
"Instead of the angry finger-pointing, can we just for one day agree that it is horrible and monstrous to shoot another human?" he wrote.
He added he and his family "send love" to the Kirk family and "all the children, parents and innocents who fall victim to senseless gun violence".

ABC is looking to make some large acquisitions over the next few years, and they will need FCC approval.

By pulling Jimmy Kimmel off the air and appearing to cave into their demands, those purchases are a done deal.

9. A distinction without a difference. ABC exists to provide programming to its ABC affiliates.

Nexstar owned local ABC TV stations dropped Kimmel from their lineup . If ABC's affiliate stations won't play a program, then it is no longer viable for ABC to produce it.

Earlier on Wednesday, Nexstar Media Group Inc. said it would stop airing the show on its 32 ABC affiliates. "Mr. Kimmel's comments about the death of Mr. Kirk are offensive and insensitive at a critical time in our national political discourse," said Andrew Alford, president of Nexstar's broadcasting division.

The public interest of one. Only one person benefits from silencing comedians because he can’t stand being laughed at. He is strudel thin skinned,

The FCC now belongs to the party of pedophiles and they can do whatever they want!
