Corporate, legacy media is no longer reliable for information.

They have bent the knee to Donald Trump. Their financial interests outweigh any promise to deliver the "news" to the people.

They are "nervous nellies" every time Trump threatens them. He understands that they answer to their pocketbook and their stockholders.

We can no longer rely on CBS, ABC, or NBC. FOX is unreliable for different reasons - they are a tool of the state-run media.

We should support independent news outlets, if they manage to hang on?

It appears we are in the process of losing our First Amendment.

They jumped on the anti-Clinton bandwagon back in the 90s. Completely were against Gore in 2000. Supported and helped Bush push the illegal invasion of Iraq. Went along with the distortions of John Kerry's military record in 04. Spread lying right wing talking points about Benghazi. Exaggerated the Hillary Clinton e-mail thing. And relentlessly bashed Biden for his age.

All you say is true, but we were able to get most of the information we needed to be informed, in my opinion.

It seems different now.

this became crystal clear to me with their coordinated promotion against the truth and the nation's best interests when they waged their relentless "War against Gore" propaganda campaign, ie: "Al Gore claimed to have invented the Internet" etc. etc. etc. instead of giving him credit for his land mark legislative achievements while also literally enabling an inferior candidate to power

I viewed this as an oligarchic, top down directed assault against both the 1st Amendment and the science warning of the growing catastrophe of global warming climate change.

Before that I always thought one could discern the truth by turning to as many different corporate media sources as possible for information on a daily basis. After 2000 I realized it was all a bubble as the system; itself had due to over concentration become dysfunctional, if the purpose of journalism is to present the truth with no fear or favor.

As I have said countless times since 2000, the corporate media is the CORPORATE media.

Thanks for the thread kentuck.
