Nothing says the 'day of remembrance' for Kirk has to be a celebration

....I'd guess it will be a flashpoint for activism, reminding Americans of the inveterate demagogue, racist, bigot, xenophobe, shit-baiting republican con man that he was.

With this regime, everything changes from day to day, week to week.

The House and Senate will hold moments of silence. A few will get up and speak.

Will it be mentioned on TV? Maybe in passing. Indigenous People's Day will get more attention. There will be a few clashes between the old and new name for the holiday. Trump will write an executive order forcing the name "Columbus Day" forever enshrined or something.

There will be more drama by then. There always is with this regime.

On Tyranny by Timothy Snyder, Rule #1: "Do not obey in advance."

To claim free speech is dead is irrational.

Giving up and giving in is not what Democrats do.

or demagogue jr, kirk day is a good day to fly a flag upside down or protest in any other way against the criminals who want to kill the country, this week being trying to squelch criticism of dear leader or his fan boy.

I've spent the week posting comments on my other social media about the importance of free speech, separation of church and state, and other ideals that set America aside from other countries. I'll keep doing what I can to turn the tide.

I'm not obeying in advance, just saying something briefly instead of writing a book.

You're channeling your feelings (and reactions) into action.

That's fortitude, using your Will to fight on in the face of darkness. Good for you.

I'm sorry if I misunderstood. Maybe I still do, but thanks for more context than I knew when I posted my previous response.

Although it is difficult to do, for fear of appearing complacent or a collaborator, the thing that may agitate them the most is if we ignore their machinations entirely or at the very least act like their hero worship is no big deal.

In other words... spit in their general direction, flick them off like a bug and move on unbothered.
