Were an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while youre studying that reality judiciously, as you will well act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and thats how things will sort out. Were historys actors . . . and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do.
That's America in 2025

(8,739 posts)The fact is that we all create reality...all the time. Each of us, through our actions, create reality.
What Rove actually does is attempt to steer the collective reality in a direction he wants it to go.
This requires 10's of millions of people to consent to this pressure.
If we don't want to go in the direction he wants us to go, we need to push back hard enough to redirect the collective reality in a way that brings forth the results we want.
Right now we are side lining ourselves, and watching this right wing, fascist reality build all around us. Personally, I think they are overconfident and aren't taking into the account how much the majority of Americans like their country, and enjoy living in a reality that gives us great freedom to live our lives the way we want.
Sure, there's a lot of shit out there...inequity, hate, greed, violence, and so much more more.
But, face it, life could be a whole lot worse if we just sit back and watch it all slip away.
The Republicans are betting we won't act fast enough, and with enough resolve, to block their power grab. What they're not seeing is how their own base is beginning to stir; to feel the restrictive pinch that is slowly, but ever quickening, taking away their ability to live life the way they want to.
It's a race to the finish. Will we rise up before it's too late? Will we end up with blood in the streets, and an end of our Democratic Republic?
I sure hope we can take a stand, and put a stop to this fascist attempt to destroy our nation. We owe it to our ancestors who fought and died to make America the great nation it has been for so many years.

(463 posts)Nobody wants to be a broke empire. The nations that traded with the US are finding alternative markets and boycotting US products. US Farmers have had $0 soybean orders from China this year. Dairy orders are also down. Bourbon sales are way down. US Former trade partners and allies are also cancelling orders for Starlink, Tesla, F35 jets, Apache helicopters, Boeing jets, John Deere and International Harvester, Ford, etc. etc.
