Trump, 79, Says Cuba and the Amish Have No Autism in Bonkers Speech

Trump, 79, Says Cuba and the Amish Have No Autism in Bonkers Speech (The Daily Beast)

President Donald Trump made a series of bizarre claims and doled out his own medical advice while making a major announcement at the White House flanked by his top health officials.

The president, 79, was slated to give remarks on Monday afternoon that the administration had found links between autism and Tylenol use by pregnant women, an announcement that some doctors were already pushing back on.

However, Trump went off-script and made a series of rambling, eyebrow-raising comments about autism, vaccines, and butchered the pronunciation of acetaminophen, best known as the brand name Tylenol.

-snip-

Trump said there was no downside to not taking Tylenol. He called it “not good” and suggested pregnant women should “tough it out” despite Tylenol being the most commonly recommended pain reliever for pregnant women for decades.

Our media is structured, and the people who need to see it to be woken up, the people that don’t vote, almost no chance they will see it unless it’s on TikTok.

But I like the idea

Lower reported rates are often due to underdiagnosis, cultural differences, and limited access to healthcare, not the absence of the disorder.

time he feigns concern, it seems he believes that there would be no health issues if everyone just didn't get tested. He said that during Covid. So, if there's no testing -- and thus no disease -- there's no need for vaccines.

That's the way his mind works. If you deny whatever, then it never happened (like Biden's election win). He believes he won that election, which led to, and justified, the Jan. 6 insurrection. So he comfortably pardons the insurrectionists.

He. Is. Mentally. Deranged.

Cuba has autism too. Lots of it. But do they have a similar prevalence rate as the US, or other richer countries? Actually, the guesswork says no. But none of this is as yet proven. The resources needed for prevalence studies have just not been available, again, due to the blockade.

Historically, though, there really wasn’t a great, visible need for the Cubans (in particular, their overseeing entity, the Ministry of Health) to implement large resources into autism programming; until 2010-2012, when they started hearing reports of larger numbers from their schools and pediatric offices (the first group of children they started working with is now 16).

Operating out of Havana’s Borras Marfán hospital, Dr. Yoysy Rondon Acosta is the National Coordinator for Autism and other Neurodevelopmental Disorders. Working alongside Dr. Tania Adriana Péon, who heads the National Group of Child Psychiatry. they have been charged with coming up with national plans that can withstand the challenges of both the prevalence rise and the embargo/blockade. Every municipality in the country has its own health center that operates under the Ministry’s guidelines. And the result has been a framework that’s more than a little different…

By Donnie's logic, I guess that means we should just go ahead and shut down the power grids.

Somebody should tell him that he's right and Cuba doesn't have any autism...because they have universal healthcare.

Yes, Amish people have children with Autism, and Cuba also has autistic children. In fact, its found everywhere in the world.

https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/autism-rates-by-country

https://publichealthcollaborative.org/alerts/anti-vaccine-myth-that-amish-children-dont-have-autism-resurfaces/

The strange thing is that Japan and South Korea have the highest rate of Autism in the world. Look at the map. Sometimes neighboring nations have similar rates of Autism, sometimes they're a lot different.
For example, Ireland has a much higher rate than Great Britain. I think some of this is reporting, not vaccines, or things like Tylenol.
One cause I would like to suggest for the overall rise in Autism could be micro-plastics. I think there needs to be a lot more research here.
