It is an absolutely gorgeous day in the Portland area today. We drove through Portland the other night as our grandson had a soccer game in Aloha. Portland looked just beautiful with the lights on the buildings and the beautiful bridges with everything reflected in the water of the Willamette. It makes me sick about what Trump is intending to do. We went up to Seattle for a Mariners game two weeks ago. Between the Sounders and the Mariners playing at the same time, downtown Seattle was filled with happy people. It was not a warzone up there either. Trump needs to keep his hate and destruction out of the Pacific Northwest.

Worked in as a Federal, Corporate and academic/research forester for many years and now many years ago. Worked out of office on Pioneer Square for 7 years (87-93) and then Corvallis (94-98).

Had, no longer use, a Facebook account as 99% observer and seldom poster.

One group followed was about logging history.

During the fires that burned Talent Oregon several years ago a majority of participants were up in arms saying Antifa was starting the fires. There is a big overlap among loggers of people that are vets and/or have guns. They were organizing an armed group to go armed to fight the Antifa starting the fires. There was another group of posters telling the whackos they were whackos. The group temporarily shut down and then re-opened several days later. Pegged to the top, was a message from the administrators saying the group could not be used that way, organizing an armed militia basically. Also that there had been mass bans. The posters that were banned were the strong voices that had argued against the whackos and told them they were ridiculous.

This is the mindset and a general mindset of many outside of blue areas in general.
