This kind of thing could (and does) happen anywhere at any time to anyone. Sadly, this is the country we live in now. It makes absolutely no sense to me. When will enough be enough?

I hope your niece is okay. I would be shaking all day, just to be close enough to hear the shots. I can't even imagine what terror those parishioners went through.

I'd say between the city of Grand Blanc and the township, crime of this magnitude is practically unheard of. Yea, they have break ins and other types of suburban crime but never a mass shooter.

Many years ago there was a family annihilator situation and years later another murder was committed in the same house. The house is close to where my niece lives. The fact that I remember those so clearly says something about the murder rate in the city.

11. The shooter was

a 40-year-old, white male who rammed his pickup truck, with two large American Flags waving in the back, into the back door of the church. He was skilled enough to build an explosive device that engulfed the church in flames. Care to speculate on his background and motives?

Burton is on the norther border of Grand Blanc/southern border of Flint. The demographics are solidly blue collar, middle income and lower, and very conservative. Big time MAGA area. So, the whole flags and guns thing doesn't surprise me.

I realized that I use to live in a house that's only about a mile, or so, from that church.
