(2,712 posts)The first being on the extent of the fire. Wasn't there an operable sprinkler system? That's quite a conflagration from a truck hitting a wall.
The second is how the truck could have reasonably be expected to penetrate the brick wall. The roadway in the foreground is not in a direct line with the area targeted, and involved going against the one-way traffic markers. Then there doesn't appear to be a tearing up of the grass or marks on the curb. It seems there would have to be some type of incendiary device introduced into the building.

(20,591 posts)I'm not sure of incendiary devices, though. It could have been something as simple as an old-fashioned Molotov cocktail.

(28,280 posts)Our side doesn't control the machinery of repression or of "law" enforcement. We don't have the ability to make policy on the "cracking down on domestic terrorism". They do, and are actively using it to target their political opponents (us), which is not something our side has ever done.
It's completely valid for us to point out when perpetrators of violence don't fit the regime's narrative.

(3,835 posts)Thomas Jacob Sanford, 40, from Burton was confirmed as the shooter at a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel in Grand Blanc Township about an hour from Detroit.
The New York Post reported that an old Facebook post by Sanfords mother indicated he served in Iraq from 2004 to 2008.
Everything I read says "hundreds" of people were inside the church. Reports are that he was driving a Chevy pickup flying two big Amereican flags, rammed into the church doors, started shooting, then, something exploded. Overhead photos show the church as a big building, totally involved in flames. Most reports quote local authorities anticipate a lot of dead after they get the fire out.
Other comments I have read on various blogs says this is a rural part of Michigan that went heavily from Trump with MAGAts everywhere.

(1,749 posts)Not very urban, but I wouldnt call it rural. Grand Blanc used to be the very affluent suburb of Flint before GM closed the majority of the plants, still nice, but not the same. Rural doesnt come to mind. I grew up in Flint, and still have family in the area. Know it well.

(10,297 posts)If the Mormons were wise, theyd reconsider any ties they have to the Extreme Right. The Saints were widely persecuted in the mid19 th century, and despite wishful thinking on the part of many LDSers and their leadership, the bigotry and hate directed at them way back when may have dwindled from what it once was, but it hasnt died out. In the aftermath of Charlie Kirks abrupt departure from this mortal plane, those voices of hatred and religious bigotry are beginning to be heard again. It wouldnt surprise me at all if Mormons soon find themselves seated next to Muslims on the Radical Rights hate list. Then they can relive their forebears persecution and calumny.
