Oliver Kornetzke, who, if I got it right (and I may not have), is an American living in Australia, let loose with a blistering rant that is about as harsh as any written criticism of Trump that I have seen. It is also one that has, as far as I can tell, no glaring inaccuracies unless one feels included in those who kneel.
Here goes (fasten your seat belts):
Behold. The festering carcass of American rot shoved into an ill-fitting suit: the sleaze of a conman, the cowardice of a draft dodger, the gluttony of a parasite, the racism of a Klansman, the sexism of a back-alley creep, the ignorance of a bar-stool drunk, and the greed of a hedge-fund ghoulall spray-painted orange and paraded like a prize hog at a county fair. Not a president. Not even a man. Just the diseased distillation of everything this country swears it isnt but has always beenarrogance dressed up as exceptionalism, stupidity passed off as common sense, cruelty sold as toughness, greed exalted as ambition, and corruption worshiped like gospel. It is Americas shadow made flesh, a rotting pumpkin idol proving that when a nation kneels before money, power, and spite, it doesnt just lose its soulit shits out this bloated obscenity and calls it a leader.

I can't say that I agree that the description fit us all--after all, WE never voted for him, and I'm still unconvinced that a majority of Americans ever really did. I also would not designate so many of the decent people I know, whether in politics or not, as arrogant, stupid, cruel, greedy and corrupt. Unamuno's words ring out again--conquest does not mean you have convinced the one you have conquered, only that you have used your brute force to defeat and subjugate him. Do not take our temporary defeat to mean acquiescence or acceptance, for it does not.

(2,133 posts)Even if all Americans are not like that far too many are and even more Americans are silent as the atrocities continue. We have an entire party that fits the above description and large areas of the country vote for them. They willingly suffer so others can suffer more.
He is an obscenity.

(33,148 posts)that I cannot bear the sight or sound of him. One administration was more than enough. I have not been able to understand how so many people could vote for him a second time.

(28,657 posts)No matter what reservations one might have had about either Clinton or Harris, keeping right-wingers off the Supreme Court should have been reason enough to have voted for either of them.

(2,834 posts)That alone should have been enough to cement a victory, and look at what they've done further to destroy the republic. This second go-around will all but cement democracy's destruction.

(66,709 posts)He purported scored ~77M votes, very slightly more than half of the counted ballots and unfortunately enough for him to shit his way back into the White House.
His fuckhead KKKultists still claim that a majority voted for him, and they continue claiming it even when asked to explain how 77M is a majority of 340M citizens.
Hate to harp on a point tangential to Oliver's magnificent rant, but it's important not to cede this rhetorical point to their legitimizing propaganda.

(210 posts)A grifter in spray-painted hue,
With morals decayed through and through,
He struts like a king,
But reeks of the sting
Of a nation's worst sins on review.
A carcass in patriots clothes,
Where rot in the marrow still grows.
A brute, not a man,
Just a festering scam
The shame that a nation now knows.
A tumor in libertys name,
Spray-painted and bloated with shame.
Not leader, but blight
A shrine to our spite,
The puke of a nations acclaim.
He waddled in gold-plated shoes,
Spouting nonsense the gullible choose.
With a wink and a snort,
He made treason a sport
And sold hats while dismantling the news.
