It's "pretty simple." Not everybody can just get a "fucking library card"

Sometimes the nearest library is 28 miles away. Sometimes they work non-traditional hours or two and three jobs. Sometimes people who do have library cards waste their time haranguing natural allies over the narcissism of minor differences when they could probably find something more effective to do with their time.

Editing to add: Thinking everybody should do things “like I did” is usually what sets things going in the wrong direction to begin with. Diversity at its core means not everyone has the same life you do. Like I said, people are doing what they can, where they can. It would be more productive to find ways to support that because they will never all become you.
