They were "discussing" it during the closing days of his first term, but never got around to it.

4. My sister (75) gets survivor benefits.

Her husband worked for customs. She is pretty scared that they might kick her off the payroll.

My nephew also works for customs. Collecting tariffs. They *think* his job is safe.

5. Unfortunately, You're Probably Right

I pulled out all of my TSP funds and combined them with several existing IRAs from husband and my inheritance from my parents, and now have them under one umbrella. But the funds that come from FERS are probably going to be targeted at some point.

I feel horrible for everyone who is stuck as a Federal employee. I have some friends that were near retirement and took the "fork". Now they're screwed, because OPM can't process new retirement claims until this is over with.
