How about some good news?

So today we ran errands — in our 80’s, wife doesn’t drive.

Last stop was big grocery store, four items on list, she waited in car ad I went in.

Instead of going through self-checkout as I usually do I went through a line with a cashier. I was only one in line.

Cashier was Hispanic lady, round face, big smile. I said “You have such a big smile.”

She smiled even more then said “This is why I’m smiling!”

She held up a study guide for prospective US citizens - “I have my interview on November 3!! “

I congratulated her, lady behind me in line did same, we both wished her well and hugged her ! Right there in the check out lane! We both welcomed her to America, told her she would do great,

I had trouble leaving the store — something in my eyes, couldn’t see well!

WHAT A GREAT DAY!!! Great day for her and for America!!!!

Maybe check back in a few weeks to see if there's any good news? Tell her we're all rooting for her.

And a reminder of those times when I was part of voter registration drives. The smiles on the faces of those newly naturalized citizens who were so excited to vote -- some brought tears to our eyes. One woman took her copy and kissed it, her smile lighting the whole room. Another danced her way out the door, raising her paper like a trophy. To have been there for such moments remains a very cherished blessing. Thank you so much for sharing your own moment!

the 70+ % who voted for Trump.

I know exactly how you feel around people wanting a better life, it makes me so sad they live in fear.

of the popular vote. It was something over 49% but didn't make it to 50%. It was the Electoral College that made it look bigger than it was.

(Kamala got like 48%+ of the popular vote.)

might have won by 10 points if he weren't a Nazi. Heck, Bill Clinton only got 43% of popular vote in 1992.

I am sad to say my first thought was "they'll just grab her and deport her to some gulag when she goes in".

I wish things were better for the fine people who come here.
