Yesterday's counter-protest experiences???

Bangor, ME. I was at the intersection by the park, so lots of stopped traffic to interact with. Received several shout-downs and middle fingers, to which I replied, "Love you too, bud/girl!" (Except the middle school girls, to whom I shouted, "Someday you will be grown up and free to make your own decisions.&quot

To the Proud Boy truck, I hollered, "I've got PRIDE, too!"

For the lady blasting Lee Greenwood from her little KIA sedan, I had nothing. Couldn't stop laughing. Same for the gent in the Tesla truck. LOL Rolling meme, that one!

As I was brandishing my signs and tee shirt, shouting, "Save the Constitution! Save the USA!" an irate gentleman, who had shuffled away from the huge crowd behind me, confronted me as to whether or not I believed in the First Amendment. I said, "Of course, and these signs are me exercising that right while I still have it." He went on to complain that the crowd had chased him away, saying they'd call the police if he kept shouting at them. I replied that I was sorry to hear that, but I was not in charge of the crowd and couldn't help him. Did say he was fine to stand with me on the corner, but he moved on.

It was quite an experience, but I'd say that reactions were mostly split between positive and neutral. How was your experience?

4,000 showed up at the corner where we always protest. It was awesome! Most cars passing by were with us - beeping and cheering. One guy was spouting insults from his very loud motorcycle but I just kept yelling "we love you" and he did not seem to know how to respond. haha

The parking lot of the government center couldn’t accommodate us all so there were many cars parked along the highway, and protesters in between those cars as well. At the very end of the cars about 20 feet past the last car stood a guy with a sign that said Trump Won. When we drove by him, I said, Yup, you’re right, and that’s why we’re here.
Of course he didn’t hear me. Too much car noise.

Saw one car flipping us off as it went buy. One car was waving a Trump sign. The worst was a car that drove by lobbing water balloons. One hit the wall in fron of us. Another bounced off a sign and back into the street.. that was right next to me. Not sure if any connected.

That was it… the MAGAts mostly just tried to ignore us and tons of folks honking and offering support. It was awesome.

... like they'd suddenly found themselves transported into an alternate universe of happy people.

The colorful street party they crashed wasn't anything like what they expected.

They really do want everyone to be as miserable and as fearful as they are. Or worse.
