PBS NOW!

Of All The Things DarnOld j. dump ruined, I would like to make a public appeal for PBS
He had no right and no need to do this. This was not for the good of the American people.

You might say, 'yeah, but STREAMING...' Streaming costs you money and PBS is Free.
You might say, 'yeah, but Prime...' Prime costs you and PBS is Free.

All you need is an antenna, and if you don't have one, a paper clip will do.

Imagine watching complete shows without commercial interruption.
With access to history, science, nature, drama, sitcoms, and real truthful NEWS.
...and not having to pay a monthly bill for it.

Come back to PBS and support PBS, the last bastion of HOPE

and I stopped paying money to watch TV.
I stopped watching commercial TV five years ago when Sinclair cut METV in my area.
I watch commercial TV for the 5:00 local news, but as soon as it goes to commercial,
I go back to PBS and BBC NEWS.

I make a monthly donation to APT which gives me access to Passport, which allows access to many old programs from years back. We're on such a tight budget (two people on one SS check) that I've avoided all donations, but when Turnip went after PBS I knew I could do something, even if it wasn't that big.

because it's easier than remembering every year, and I don't want to lode Passport and not find out until there's something I really want to watch. It's not a huge donation each month, but it doesn't have to be., thankfully.

You not only get excellent entertainment, but you also get access to prior seasons of PBS shows. I give more to PBS than just the Passport membership cost because I truly believe in supporting PBS at the local and national level. Thank you, Mr. Bee, for such an eloquent defense of PBS!

35. Thomas Jefferson didn't want the president to have ultimate power
Sun Oct 26, 2025, 12:22 PM
Oct 26
Having fought against the tyranny of a king, Jefferson was deeply suspicious of creating an American executive with monarchical authority. He worried that allowing perpetual re-eligibility could turn the presidency into an office for life and eventually into an inherited position.
The structure of the Constitution, with its three independent branches of government, was designed to prevent any single person or branch from gaining too much power. The checks and balances were seen as a crucial protection against executive overreach.
