Hate is lazy and addictive. I try to use the word "despise." For example, I despise George W. Bush. I look down on him in an extreme way. He was and is a fuckup. I'm weak there, I guess, because it's a vice even to look down on him (although a far lesser vice than to hate him).

I see Trump as a symptom, a loose cannon on a deck full of loose cannons. Hating him is bad for the soul and other souls near us. You're much better off finding well-evidenced ways to look down on him. Hating him hands a "losing victory" to the emotionally confused folks on "the right" who hate us (but don't know us) and the emotionally confused folks on our side who hate others they don't know.
