He was too cowardly to serve in the military... but he is "brave" enough to kill civilians in boats. Brave enough to take food away from families. Brave enough to terrorize brown people. Brave enough to cut off all aid to foreign countries whose people depended on it. Brave enough to threaten our allies.
He likes to talk tough about Democrats. Looks to me like he's just getting warmed up.

Newly uncovered notes from Mike Pence reveal Trump pressured him to overturn Bidens win calling him a wimp for refusing.
You're not protecting our country
you're supposed to support and defend our country, Trump told him.
Pence reminded him: they swore an oath to the Constitution, not to Trump.
Trump tried to bully Pence into rejecting the certification, then sat and watched as a violent mob stormed the Capitol screaming HANG MIKE PENCE.
He never called in the National Guard.
He watched it happen.
All because his ego couldnt handle losing.
If he didnt care whether his own Vice President lived or died
why would he ever care about the American people?

(44,631 posts)But doesnt get his hands dirty. He epitomizes respect for life as shown by the likes of coward Mike Johnson who cares not of what he does in the name of America. Johnson and others of his ilk are spineless and believe there is never ending serendipity in their current plight in life. Sick, evil. Describes the gop. No talent in leadership and governance. Massed together as a single blob of hateful humanity. All in the name of trump, their god of no responsibility.

(7,414 posts)the power over life and death... who lives, who dies, and who just wishes they were dead. He's doing the same thing to us with this "3rd term" talk. IF somehow he's still alive and we completely throw away the constitution once and for all, and he gets that "3rd term" he will never leave office. Which is why he's building his Epstein Memorial Ballroom. Read where Bannon said they already have a plan for capturing that 3rd term, but he's not saying anything more at the moment. It's also why he'll demolish the rest of the WH one section at a time until there is nothing left of the "People's House" any longer... only a palace fit for a king and god. I just can't get Herbert's book title out of my mind... "Dune, God Emperor" not that I'm comparing trump to Paul Atreides, only that he believes he is the anointed god-emperor of the world. trump is Hitler on steroids. Never content with just one country, because he, like his billionaires, doesn't "belong" to any one country. They want to take over the world, and their working hard on it.
We may have to figure out how to *successfully* implement our own Project Valkyrie in order to save the country and the world.

(7,414 posts)after losing the election to Biden. I mean, who in the hell receives heads of state at a golf hotel?! NO ONE is suppose to do anything like that other than the President, and there can only be one of those at a time. But just like everything else, trump ignored that law as being too restrictive. He sent out envoys and received heads of state. He should have been stopped so many times on so many things, it's just too anger inducing for me to think hard about it. But setting up a Shadow Government from scratch... not transitioning it from an active presidency to a shadow of what it was... I'd like to know more about how that could happen. Sure sounds like something I could get behind in a heartbeat!

(3,168 posts)governors who also believe the current system can no longer be patched back together with the damage Trump and the SCOTUS have done. I think they need a rewrite of the Constitution which would include things like corporations are not people and money is not speech in a definitions section similar to what the CFR has. Include the Declaration of Independence as a legal document. Codify voting and privacy as rights, revisit FDR's second bill of rights. Then set up elections to fill the seats in the new congress. Again any opposition would be stymied by the stampede to be included to ensure that they weren't left out of the new power structure. I'm not sure of the details. If it were me, campaign contributions of any type would be banned. I would go set a mission statement for the country, decide on tasks to fulfill the missions, assign tasks to agencies, set up every federal agency as a semi-independent entity like the post-office with a set budget. They could provide documentation to congress to appeal for adjustments but the annual budget drama would be gone. Congress and the executive branch would have joint oversight over the agencies and consequences if they didn't fulfill their charter. Central control and micromanagement needs to end. If they don't trust someone to do their job, get rid of them, but congress simply isn't smart enough and doesn't have the time to learn enough to micromanage say the USFWS. So they get a complaint from a rich landowner in Wyoming and then want to rework (or work over) the USFWS to appease a campaign contributor.
It is a high-risk operation, but I don't see any realistic option anymore. Somewhere here on DU the guy who dresses as a woman went through 4 possible outcomes as a democracy becomes authoritarian. We won't make it to the 1 good one, we are too polarized.

(7,414 posts)It's this kind of thinking that's going to get us out of this mess and into a better world. I also applaud you for remembering FDR's Second Bill of Rights. I'm not sure how all of what you mentioned would work out, but it's a beginning of a process, at least!
One thing I think needs to be insisted upon in any constitutional rewrite is to rewrite it in plain, modern language. No more of the thee's, and thou's. Unless an appendix is added which delineates exactly what those words mean when they show up. No more arguing over whether "will do" is the same as "shall do" for example. We've gotten so screwed over the decades because of semantics.

(7,414 posts)and probably took over once Epstein "suicided", it makes me every more angry and wanting answers to what happened to all those children in his first term that were detained on "immigration" and then marched out undercover of darkness and put on planes to where? Were any of them ever found again? Did any of them ever make it back to their families? Why isn't anyone asking these types of questions from his damned first term... maybe if we'd made a huge stink then we might not be in the situation we are now.

Not to mention that the COVID pandemic would have been much worse if he was successful in repealing the ACA three years before the COVID pandemic.
