Gusts of 100. Sustained winds of 80+. We have an oak tree in the front yard and branches were slapping the ground. How that tree didn't uproot I'll never know. 175mph would have taken our roof off. Hoping everyone in the islands makes it through OK.

I'm periodically checking reports and the situation is dire. Just this second I hear that if the storm continues to move West, part of the island will be essentially safe. But the wind speeds being reported are terrifying.

Anyhow, just know we're all holding y'all in our thoughts and minds.

I would like to point out that this thing vividly shows the unpredictability of hurricanes and the extremely serious nature of a slow moving hurricane.

The track looks like my handwriting when I'm asleep.

Hopefully the high mountains can disrupt the circulation as it gets closer to Jamaica.

But that means it may dump rain toward the coasts. God bless.
