She resigned from that position shortly after JD Vance was announced as Trump's running mate, according to multiple reports.
However, some of her previous roles quickly started gaining some scrutiny, notably her clerkships for Brett Kavanaugh before he was a appointed to the Supreme Court and the current Chief Justice John Roberts. Both men make up part of the highest court's 6-3 conservative majority.
Not excusing JD's behavior and recalling how HAPPY Trump looked when Erica leaned into him, full body contact, at that memorial for Charlie. Both men have questionable response to the very friendly widow, but Usha seems to lack some judgement about who she picks to be around.

When I saw how she comported herself disgracefully at her husband's funeral service
I knew she was the brains behind the Kirk scam.
And then more confirmation by all of her posts requesting money, etc.
She has identified Vance as her next target, and yes she will be the one running the US
and world once Vance is in office. And scamming the US taxpayer and US Treasury.
I think this latest stunt is designed to get Vance's wife to file for divorce.
Vance is going to regret this day for the rest of his life.
I wonder if Vance understands the extent to which he is being played.
ETA I give her credit, she rapidly parlayed her sudden rise to power very well.
She lacks subtlety of course, but for the MAGAs, the more ham fisted the better.

Bernardo de La Paz
(60,320 posts)When she wears a sheer sexy black blouse to memorial events, she is not "hot for" someone specific. She is over-sexed, needy, unsatiated.
Sure, it's an old expression and I have no idea about its currency. The WW2 phrase went "The GIs are over-sexed and over here." That usage also was not "hot for" someone specific.
I used it because I think it is applicable.

(576 posts)was 80 years ago. Modern vernacular probably doesn't describe either a man or a woman as "over-sexed". However, I think a common term today is "player," and "cougar" specifically for (older) women.
As for Erica wearing pleather pants, sheer blouses and the like, well, people have their own taste for what is proper for themselves. I'm not to judge.
On the other hand, since TPUSA and the right so frequently judge others (especially those of us on the left, as well as people from other nations/cultures), I think it's fair to judge her based on their own set of criteria of what is acceptable for women to wear.

(22,158 posts)I don't love it, especially applied to a woman. The overtones of slut shaming are distasteful.
BeerBarrelPolka
(2,173 posts)Now that's an example of misandry.
ShazzieB
(22,158 posts)Slut shaming is something that is usually aimed at women and girls:
Slut-shaming is accusing someone usually girls and women of being too sexual, and using that as an excuse to humiliate, bully, or harass them. The reason slut-shamers target people is to make themselves feel more powerful by putting other people down.
Examples of slut-shaming include:
○ calling someone a slut,
○ demeaning someone for wearing revealing clothes (regardless of what theyre actually wearing),
○ spreading rumors about someones sex life,
○ trash-talking someone for having sex (regardless of whats true),
○ victim-blaming someone for a sexual assault, and
○ yelling at someone for going to a sexual health care center.
Slut-shaming can happen online or IRL; directly or behind someones back; from people you know or dont know. Slut-shaming comes from the myth that sex is wrong, dirty, or immoral, especially if youre female. Thats why slut-shaming also is a cruel form of sexism. The main message is: Its not okay to enjoy sex or be sexual if youre female or feminine.
Source: https://www.plannedparenthood.org/blog/what-is-slut-shaming
Sure sounds like misogyny to me, and I'm not comfortable seeing any woman slut shamed, including the widow of a RWNJ asshole?

(2,173 posts)if it fits. I was married to a christian woman who had no problem sleeping with several different men at the same time. It's misandry to try to defend her.
ShazzieB
(22,158 posts)Well, as far as I'm concerned, objecting to slut shaming on general principle has nothing to do with defending something a particular person has done. If a person has cheated on someone they are in a relationship with, they may well deserve to be criticized for their actions of lying, cheating, and not honoring their commitments.
Exqmple: an aunt of mine was married to a man who cheated on her openly and blatantly for many years. (Yes, she should have left him a lot sooner than she eventually did, and I don't really understand why she didn't. But that's a whole different conversation). Did he do that because he was "oversexed" (whatever that even means)? I don't think so. I think he did it because he was a lying, cheating scumbag who had no respect for the vows he made at the altar. He did it because he felt like it and because he could.
Slut shaming is a different thing from holding someone responsible for specific behavior like cheating on a partner. It involves holding women to a different and stricter standard than men are held to and policing women's behavior in a much more judgmental way, and it includes things like blaming women for any undesired attentions they receive from me. If the distinction is still not clear to you, I recommend reading the article I linked to in my last post. It lays the whole thing out pretty clearly, I think. I guarantee you every woman reading this knows exactly what I'm talking about and most of us have personally experienced slut shaming.
I could go further and explain why objecting to the misogynistic act of slut shaming has nothing whatever to do with misandry, but I am simply too tired to go on any longer. Peace out.
BeerBarrelPolka
(2,173 posts)Some women are indeed sluts and it's not misogyny to call them that. If you can't understand that, then you are defending, hence that is misandry.
Men are called ALL sorts of names when they cheat so save me the lecture. And men are insulted even on here on a daily basis. It's very common to read about their small "size" to explain their behavior. That is misandry plain and simple. But we are supposed to accept that.
So I call a spade a spade. Yes, there are sluts out there. I have no idea whatsoever if Kirk's widow is one. But they are most definitely out there. And the term slut shaming is just one way to defend and empower them and that behavior.
ShazzieB
(22,158 posts)You've obviously got your mind made up, and I'm officially noping out of pursuing this issue any further here and now. Sorry I spent so much time trying to clarify what slut shaming is, because it was obviously a waste of effort and energy. But maybe someone else will read this conversation and learn something. Who knows?
By the way, I don't care for those "size" jokes, either, and I don't participate in them, because I think they're silly. But from what I've seen, men post comments like that at least as often as women do here at DU, so your beef is not with me. (I don't use any other social media these days, so all my comments here are about DU culture, not the internet at large.)
I'm also not a fan of comments that equate qualities like courage with the ownership of testicles. I'm pretty sure there are people of just about every gender here at DU, and I feel those comments are disrespectful to cis women, trans people, intersex people...basically anyone without "standard issue" male genitalia, WHETHER THEY ARE MEANT THAT WAY OR NOT. In the 21st century, i don't think we should be equating character traits with genitalia of any kind. Not because it has anything to do with either misandry or misogyny, but because genitalia have nothing to do with the kind of person someone is.
I imagine a lot of us have a list of pet peeves regarding certain types of comments that bug us. But it's not possible to control other people's behavior and trying to do so is exhausting, so I mostly just roll my eyes at those things, keep scrolling, and take comfort in the fact that I know most people of every gender here at DU really do have a respectful attutude towards everyone else. It's one of my favorite things about this place.
