General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsI can tell you EXACTLY how and why Trump would "help" MAGAt cartoonist Scott "Dilbert" Adams, who's BEGGING him
1). Adams became an EXTREMELY VOCAL MAGAt. People who ARE NOT MAGAts don't like extremely vocal MAGAt cartoonists in the same way that they don't like Kid Rock or Lee Greenwood. The percentage of "like" is "0."
2). Adams posted this on Twitter:
He continued, saying, "I am declining fast."
"I will ask President Trump if he can get Kaiser of Northern California to respond and schedule it for Monday," Adams added. "That will give me a fighting chance to stick around on this planet a little bit longer. It is not a cure, but it does give good results to many people."
https://www.rawstory.com/trump-cancer-plea-begging/
3). Because Trump doesn't give a fuck about ANYONE ELSE unless he can GET SOMETHING FROM THEM, he probably doesn't give a fuck about whether Adams is declining fast, slow, or at a surprisingly leisurely pace.
4). Trump's PRIMARY MOTIVATION is USUALLY MONEY. But if he can turn making a phone call for a MAGAt cartoonist into a "media event," he might do it, as one more thing that's not the Epstein files.
5). Helping Adams wouldn't piss off "the libs" as much as pardoning Maxwell (which would piss off a few MAGAts, too). But since he's not well-liked by "liberals," Trump...if he's has a good day, some golf, six or eight Big Macs...MIGHT throw this guy a bone.

"Scott Adams has been a vocal supporter of Donald Trump and his associated "Make America Great Again" (MAGA) movement. He has publicly identified as a MAGA Republican.
Key points regarding his political stance:
Vocal Support: Adams endorsed Donald Trump in the 2016 election and has remained a supporter since, using his blog, social media, and livestream show to promote his views.
Self-Identification: Sources directly refer to him as a "MAGA Republican" or "MAGA scribbler".
Controversial Commentary: His political commentary often aligns with right-wing viewpoints and has been described by critics as conspiratorial or inflammatory, particularly concerning race and "woke" culture.
Trump's Persuasion: He has often characterized Trump as a "master persuader" and has rationalized or defended many of Trump's controversial statements using this framework.
Personal Connection: He has shared details of a surprise phone call he received from Donald Trump, indicating a personal connection or acknowledgement within the MAGA circle.
His political and social commentary, including racist remarks in 2023 that led to hundreds of newspapers dropping his Dilbert comic strip, are widely seen as part of his outspoken right-wing persona and support for the MAGA movement. "

(3,077 posts)I developed diverticulitis and practically had to treat myself using the internet. They kept testing me for everything because that's how Kaiser makes its money. I was given an antibiotic for the infection, never got a proper diagnosis, never received a course of treatment, never saw a gastroenterologist. Everything by phone.

(20,425 posts)It's true that Trump will help him only if it benefits him more, and I don't see that, but I hope he recovers in spite of himself.

(21,519 posts)My point wasn't about whether he deserves the help.
It's about his appealing to a guy who might make a decision on a coin toss, or if he can remember the last time Adams said something nice about him.
So the post is more about Trump and less about Adams, even though it's Adams' situation.

(1,080 posts)Of all the presidents, Trump has done the most to end cancer research.
There are rumors that Mike Johnson will be trying to resurrect Trump's failed repeal of ACA of 2017.
It that happens, there will be untold cancer patients in this country that may die, including me.
Although I am in complete remission, I undergo maintenance treatments that cost $1 million dollars a year.
Without ACA, I would have surpassed lifetime limits years ago.
I do not know want anyone to die of cancer.
But people who voted for Trump have put cancer patients' lives at risk.

(55 posts)Can't he just hire a doctor and just pay for the treatment ?
It is Kaiser not an insurance company and a medical provider ? ( I honestly don't know )
Maybe go to some other country where they can give you anything without the FDA getting in the way ?
Maybe contract the pharmaceutical company and just offer to pay for it ? They do like money don't they ?
Yeah, I don't know what his orangeness can actually do, except maybe bomb them as the first military medical intervention ? Maybe that is constitutional ?
Oh, wait, that doesn't matter anymore does it.
