Mike Johnson Descends Into PUBLIC PANIC as Walls Close In

Couldn't happen to a nice guy.

Behind the scenes, the situation is even more dire. Reports suggest a growing faction of Republican lawmakers is quietly discussing the possibility of replacing Johnson before the next legislative session, fearing his implosion could cost them control of the House. “There’s blood in the water,” said one GOP strategist. “People are already circling.”

For Mike Johnson, whose rise to power was built on promises of unity and moral leadership, the unraveling has been swift and brutal. Each new controversy, each fractured alliance, seems to tighten the walls around him. As panic spills into public view, Washington insiders say the question is no longer if Johnson’s speakership will collapse — but when.

From Louisiana as well, drowning in its own squalor as a "Poor red state".

It could be Scalise or someone even more of a ass kisser than Mikey has been.

And my grandmother would then pipe up, “You mean CHICKEN SHIT, right Abe”?

They were both FDR democrats to their dying bones and beyond.

GQP congress-critters don't give a shit about the American citizens. Hell I've been reading about what the GQP jerks are saying out loud that the recipients of Snap are basically lazy with no concerns about their future finances because they are content.

GQP congress-critters don't give a shit about Americans citizens about health insurance and the GQP welcome the fall of ACA subsides.

Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid be damn. Americans are losing their jobs as well.

19. Repugs are trying hard to convince everyone that the shutdown is on the Dems, but

DOGE fired thousands of workers throughout these 10 months. Some took buy-outs that expired Sept. 30 and now they can't find new jobs and are running out of money. That was totally predictable.

One point I wish the Dems would point out is this: Even if the Dems gave in today, there is absolutely no guarantee that djt won't double-cross them by clawing back the deal after the shutdown ends.

4. The elephant in the room is Trump

We know most of the Republicans in Congress hate him. But until recently their fear was greater than they hate. Now, many of them are starting to think that Trump will hurt their election chances in 2026. A few have started to speak out, but not many.

Johnson is100% linked with Trump, As long as they stick with Trump, Johnson's job is secure. Johnson is a proxy for Trump. If this talk of a Johnson ouster increases, that means Trump's control over House Republicans is slipping away.

Trump’s control is in the crumbling stage.

Stay out of the way. Cornered rats, especially demented ones with their finger on the nuclear button, are vicious.

I am not personally afraid of this—too many controls—but he will try.

He's not really running the WH, but the international community, awash in nukes, is definitely on alert. Kinda makes North Korea look stable.

And the Democrats should make it clear at every opportunity the reason their constituents, both Republicans and Democrats, are suffering is because of the dysfunctional government led by the Republicans and Squeaker Johnson. Be relentless in the messaging. Johnson is Trump’s puppet and both are making American’s lives miserable.

I was talking to a friend the other day who observed that I am mean enough to best him one on one in a fight even though I'm 82. I'm not in the best of shape but I doubt he is. He doesn't look like he goes to the gym every day either.

How tall IS he? I think I read 5'3 or 5'4. I'm 5'2 (used to be 5'3 but lost an inch along the way). I'm also mean and fight dirty. You could ask my unlamented first husband but he's dead, or in the delightful parlance of the No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency, "he is late".
