(8,999 posts)I am sitting at home because I dropped off my ballot (Yes) at the local Library drop box 2 weeks ago. I got confirmation a few days later my ballot was counted.
I don't even know where you go to vote here because I've always done mail-in or drop off at the Library.

(18,060 posts)I'm just trying to get a sense of the turnout so far.
Thank you for voting, we need to send the Nazi bastards a message that we will not be intimidated nor silenced.

(8,999 posts)He didn't win that one and I sat out for decades until 2008. I have voted every election since.
Thank you and you're welcome!

(1,421 posts)Those will matter at the state level when issues like voting rights come up. Turnout was steady, which is odd for an off year, so Im hoping that it bodes well for Dems but Im in a reliably red precinct so it might mean that MAGATS are motivated too 😏
MarineCombatEngineer
(18,060 posts)I'll fix it and it bodes well, hopefully, that there is a good turnout.

(309 posts)Turnout at 11:30 AM was steady & constant.
This is a very "BLUE" area. Results here should reflect that.

12:45pm EST, so all seniors.
Poll workers said it had been steady and more voters than they had expected.

(4,715 posts)most people voted early.
When I voted last week, the polling place was hopping.
When I passed by our neighborhood polling place at around 10 and 11 this morning, one couldn't tell there was an election except for the 'Vote Here' signs.

(21,868 posts)Very high turnout! Yeah Mandami!!!
MarineCombatEngineer
(18,060 posts)when, not if, but when Mandami wins, the MAGAt's are going to lose their shit greater than now.

(3,315 posts)Small town in northern NJ. I think the other side is motivated, and this election will definitely come down to turnout.

(5,929 posts)though we have some fairly contested local races which might also be pushing turnout.

(55,137 posts)library. I like dropping it off. In fact I like voting in general. I used to take my 1st graders on a "field trip" to the cafeteria every year on Voting Day.
They were very quiet and polite while the poll workers explained the process.
We voted in my 1st grade classroom from the first day of school until the last I had THEM choose issues important to then (like what type of class party would they like). With "privacy boards" up the students did all the work. I gave them full ownership. They passed out blank slips of paper, wrote their choices on the paper, anonymously, of course. Then they collected and tallied the votes on the big white board. And they were 100% silent.
I also used to take my little dog with me to vote. The poll workers always thought she were so cute they gave her an I VOTED sticker which I would stick on one of her stuffed animals.

(64,323 posts)We have universal VBM, and I love it. I still get emails asking me "where did I vote in (city name) in the last election?"
I hear there are places to go vote in person, but I have no idea where.
Deminpenn
(17,504 posts)Voted around 10, #93. Voting reported as steady, but there was no line and a couple voters in the booths. My precinct is reliably red, but seems like turnout will be around 25-30%.
Deminpenn
(17,504 posts)Turnout ended up at 41.8%. In the Nov 2023 local elections, turnout was 48%, so down from two years ago and also fewer registered voters.
The precinct is reliably R and so the R court judges and "No" to retain both won, but it was much closer than might have been expected. The county as a whole voted "Yes" to retain which is a pretty big deal as it shows voters are paying attention and also that FoxNews watching Rs are a hopeless cause.

(46,139 posts)But its a weird precinct --- its a high rise condo/apartment complex that is its own precinct. The demographics are heavily immigrant -- mostly Middle East -- plus elderly. I worked there in November 2024 and there was definitely more activity back then. Might pick up during the late afternoon. There was no Republican volunteer on site, although there was a table with republican sample ballots. I was offering the Democratic sample ballots to those who passed by. A few took both, more took what I offered. A few said they already had voted or didn't need the sample ballot. It will be interesting to see how the final numbers turn out and how it compares to a year ago when this precinct, while giving Kamala more votes than Trump, leaned more to Trump than it had in the past, particularly it seemed because of anger towards Biden over the departure from Afghanistan, as unfair as it was to blame him.
