I got a letter from the Indiana BMV today. It's dated 10/28/2025

And it says that if I don't submit a certificate of compliance proving that my car is insured, my license will be suspended effective 05/13/1991. Seriously. And it's really from them, I called to make sure. They seem to think it's hilarious and told me to just ignore it, but I'm wondering what the heck kind of incompetent people are working at the BMV and sending out letters like this.

The Republiklan Party controls much of IN, right? Do they really want competent government services at any level?

guess I didn't expect it from them. Everything this state does is crazy, so I would put it past them to make every service as bad as possible intentionally.
