MAGAt Moses Mikey: Republicans will provide affordable healthcare by letting the ACA subsidies expire

House Republicans unveiled details of their health care proposal on Friday ahead of a looming expiration of enhanced Affordable Care Act subsidies.

The bill includes several measures that have broad support among Republicans, including reinstating cost-sharing reductions and allowing small businesses to buy health insurance as a group. But it notably would not extend enhanced ACA subsidies, which are set to expire in just a few weeks.

The expiration of those subsidies is expected to cause premiums to more than double on average for roughly 22 million Americans.

“While Democrats demand that taxpayers write bigger checks to insurance companies to hide the cost of their failed law, House Republicans are tackling the real drivers of health care costs to provide affordable care, increase access and choice, and restore integrity to our nation’s health care system for all Americans,” House Speaker Mike Johnson said in a statement.

Didn’t the fiscal year end 30 September? When you were suppose to LEAD the house to an improved plan for America? Just asking. We ALWAYS got our budget reconciled on time in the Navy. No problems. We had leaders who led. Interesting concept.

I recall a Two Star talking about getting your budget in order in a timely manner. He told us, border line ominously, when you’re on time you’re late. I had a bunch of heroes in the Navy.

6. The freaking ACA was written by (mostly) right-wing think tanks long it became the ACA

And the RepuQs in Congress at the time got plenty of input, and Democrats acceded to many of their demands with the idea in mind that something approaching a consensus in the drafting would give it better acceptance and longevity.

Then of course voting day came and the slimy RepuQs completely reneged on "consensus" and ALL voted no and then went and cried on Faux Nooz that "Democrats completely shut us out, this terrible legislation is all on them" WAH WAH WAH

The major components of the ACA were part of the GQP's response to "HillaryCare" in 1992. A "free market based" solution, they called it then. It was also a lot of how RomneyCare worked in MA.
