They've ALWAYS hated John F. Kennedy

The only reason they’ve kept their hatred, mostly out of public view, is because they could never quite figure out a way to demean, dehumanize and stomp on a man who had his brains blown out on national TV.

Oh, they wanted to smear him, and dance on his grave, but the video of his blood covered wife scrambling over the trunk of a speeding car to grab pieces of his skull, and his 2 year old son saluting his casket gave them "pause".

For 63 years, they turned over every rock, and dug through every putrid sewer retention pond, searching for an entity vile enough, evil enough and disgusting enough to malign the legacy of President Kennedy.

They finally found him...and they're gleeful about it.

This seems a silly thing to call for a National Strike over, but maybe it's not that silly.

QAnon lionized Kennedy and thought he was secretly going to return. They used to gather in Dealy Plaza to wait for him. MAGA then lionized John Jr., who was also supposed to be a kind of returning redeemer. The arguments that JFK policies more closely resemble contemporary Republican policies is a constant on the MAGA right. There's also a sense that the JFK assassination was the origin of the "deep state," with the assassination conspiracies being the founding moment of the contemporary conspiracy theories.

The endorsement and MAGA-ization of RFK Jr was probably the most celebrated moment of the 2024 campaign for MAGA. It was also viewed as a redemption moment for them.

I think they actually love a MAGA-ized version of JFK. It's a weird dynamic: because MAGA is esse ntially a boomer and Gen-X movement, there's a kind of closeness to the Kennedy assassination that must be appropriated by it, a nostalgia that can't b3e turned away as "Democrat," but must be included as "Truly MAGA" within the MAGA emotional world. A strange and irrational love for an (imagined) JFK is far more what's at work in Trump's Kennedy Center nonsense.

Often, they were jealous of the charismatic, successful Democratic politicians who won so much support from the American voters. Ronald Reagan was their answer to JFK - they hired an actor to play the republican alternative to FDR and JFK.
